Update on The Undertaker’s status for Wrestlemania

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that The Undertaker is currently on track to work a match at Wrestlemania 29, with the likely opponent to be CM Punk.

Y cm punk? And not like some1 no1 will expect.
Feeding CM Punk to Taker serves no purpose for either wrestler, and is frankly uninteresting.
I liked the idea of Ryback versus Taker, cuz there could be a story there. But if you want a more meaningful match, you can either do Big Show/Taker or Lesnar/Taker. Save Punk for something like Punk/Bryan or Punk/Ziggler
The problem with doing Show/Taker, Ryback/Taker and to a lesser extent Lesnar/Taker, it likely wouldn’t live up to the match quality Undertaker has put out the last few years. I mean, with Lesnar, be honest, the Summerslam match with HHH was pretty underwhelming.
Perfect way to conclude Punk demanding respect. ‘Taker at ‘Mania is like the ultimate test and a humbling experience.
eh taker vs punk or lesnar would be decent, for this match he should bring back the american badass persona…why not.
They are going to give us two matches that we’ve seen before – Rock vs Cena, Punk vs Taker – when they could have given us two matches we haven’t seen before, i.e. Punk vs Rock and Cena vs Taker. They could have done the Rock vs Cena rematch at Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber instead, to determine the number one contender for Punk.
CM Punk and Undertaker have already been in a feud and Undertakers whipped his ass. I rather see KANE vs UNDERTAKER one more time.

Insiders within WWE feel The Undertaker vs CM Punk will be
a) 5 star quality match
b) Great build with how hot CM Punk is right now, especially with his
WWE title reign, and win against The Rock at Royal Rumble 13
c) Having the WWE title on the line makes it interesting as Undertaker has only made 1 or 2 apperances each year for the last few years now, not ideal for WWE champion
Reports have also indicated Undertaker wants to retire at Wrestlemania 30. Which is why WWE have already locked Undertaker vs John Cena in to main event the 30th annual wrestlemania.
Others also felt Ryback isnt in the class of wrestlers worthy to face Undertaker at Wrestlemania.
A Brock Lesnar / Undertaker match will have a great build but will be an average match.

horrible match. their styles clash too much not knocking taker but he needs a more strength based opponent just since hes getting slower with age and punk is more quick paced and agile. to put these 2 in a match together at mania would be a waste of 2 potential all star matches. brock and taker more or less writes itself and would really leave the result open cause brock might walk away as winner especially after beating HHH like he did. where as for punk it could go in so many directions. a good match in my view would be give a push to orton as legend killer again and label punk as legendary over the fact of his title run length. they could also bring up their past feuds to make more hype
Those that say they hate it are the same ones that are going to buy the PPV then probably vote the match as best of the night like the last couple of years.

Cena Vs Undertaker would be a terrible match for Undertakers last match. It has to be Kane then they both retire.
im fine with it. you never know punk might even go over. taker is in bad shape nobody knows what wrestlemania might end up being his last. the torch gotta be passed. im happy as long as its not someone like daniel bryan who is a absolute joke now. punk works his ass off and didnt have to change he got over with hard work. they should put him over.
Wow so he wrestles 1 match a year. Why Punk makes no sense. Just let him face Orton and kill him
