WWE Main Event Results 11/21/12

WWE Main Event 11/21/12 – Grand Rapids Michigan  Commentators: Michael Cole and JBL


The show opens with a video highlight package of The Miz listing all of his WWE accomplishments and it transitions into his verbal confrontation with Dolph Ziggler which sets up tonight’s main event.


The Miz is already in the ring and before he can begin his rant, Dolph Ziggler interrupts him and questions why is Miz in the ring since the show is called Main Event. Ziggler brags about his Survivor Series win over Orton and says Miz couldn’t see it because he was too busy being 2012 Miz……losing.


Ziggler says Miz keeps saying the same things over and over again in regards to main eventing WrestleMania and beating John Cena and what has Miz done for anyone lately.


Ziggler says Miz is the past and he is the future. Miz says Ziggler chokes whenever he is given a big opportunity and tonight will be another Dolph Ziggler failure and that he is a current and future nothing. Ziggler slaps Miz in the face and Miz slowly turns to the referee and slowly says “Ring the bell.”

Miz lands several punches and follows up with a flap jack and clotheslines Ziggler over the top rope and on to the floor and we go to commercial.


We are back form the break and Miz does the ten punches in the corner as the fans count along and drops Ziggler with a left hand as he stumbles out of the corner. Miz kicks him in the ribs for good measure and covers him for only a two count. Miz applies a rear chin lock but Ziggler fights up and shoves Miz off the ropes and drops him with a back elbow and follows up with a jumping elbow drop for a one count.


Ziggler applies a rear chin lock and Miz shoots Ziggler off the ropes, catches Ziggler and slingshots him into the corner for a two count. Miz goes for his backbreaker/neckbreaker combo but Ziggler counters with a dropkick to the face for a two count. Ziggler follows up with his a neckbreaker and tries to pin Miz with one foot on the chest but to no avail. Ziggler charges in Miz back body drops him over the top rope and out to the floor and we go to commercial as the fans chant “This is awesome.”


Back form the break and Ziggler has Miz wrapped up body scissors and drops Miz with a clothesline as he tries to get to his feet. Ziggler lands five aggressive elbow drops and applies a front face lock. Miz fights out and lands a standing drop kick of his own and runs after Ziggler but goes shoulder first into the post. Ziggler tries to remove the top turnbuckle pad but sees Miz getting up and levels him with dropkick as the referee is unsuccessful in securing the turnbuckle pad.  Both get to their feet, run off the ropes and they were thinking the same thing as they crash into each other with a double crossbody and we go to commercial.


We are back from the break as Miz attempts to pin Ziggler with a crucifix but Ziggler kicks out and plants Miz with a rocker dropper for a close two count. Miz gets a second wind and fights back with two clotheslines and hits the backbreaker/neckbreaker combo for a two count. Ziggler lands a big boot and tries to pin Miz with his feet on the ropes but the referee catches him. Ziggler applies a sleeper in the middle of the ring. Miz gets up and backs Ziggler into the corner but Ziggler holds on to the sleeper. Miz backs up again and breaks free of the hold. Miz lands the running clothesline in the corner and follows up with  a double ax handle off the top rope. Miz sets up for the SKF but Ziggler backs out and the two exchange roll ups until Ziggler throws Miz into the exposed turnbuckle and hits the Zig Zag for the win. Excellent match!!!


Winner: Dolph Ziggler             


Post Match Interview: Matt Striker tries to get an interview but Ziggler grabs the mic and makes him leave. Ziggler says he is just getting started and he is not done with John Cena by a longshot.


-Wade Barrett vs. Justin Gabriel


Barrett takes control early with punches and kicks and delivers a slingshot back breaker for only a one count. Barrett lands some forearms to the back of Gabriel and delivers a vertical suplex for another two count. Gabriel comes back with leg kicks and drops Barrett with a spinning back kick and hits a crossbody from the top rope for a two count. Gabriel goes for a springboard moonsualt but tweaks his knee as he lands on his feet and Barrett lays him out with a Winds of Change side slam.


Barrett attempts a punphandle slam but Gabriel rolls through it and hits a reverse neckbreaker for a two count. Gabriel lands with the springboard moonsault and goes for the 450 splash but Barrett crotches him on the top rope and hits The Bull Hammer for the win.


Winner: Wade Barrett


It is announced that John Cena will make his Main Event debut, next week against Damien Sandow. Sandow comes to the stage and says he will rid the WWE the of its most offensive delinquent in Cena. He says Cena is a disease that needs to be purged from the WWE and calls him the ultimate false idol…..your welcome.
