Mike Graham remembered at memorial service

Nov 5, 2012 - by Steve Gerweck

More than 500 people, including many retired pro-wrestlers, packed the Largo Cultural Center to honor 61-year-old Mike Graham.

A WWE video featuring highlights from Graham’s pro-wrestling career was played at the memorial service.

Graham’s widow, Diane, wore her husband’s Hawaiian shirt that they were married in to the service.

Diane, who heard the gunshot that took her husband’s life Oct. 18, talked about the suicide for the first time publicly Thursday from the backyard of Graham’s Indian Rocks Beach home.

“There were no signs leading up to it, no warnings, my job was to protect him, you know,” she said.

The two were in Daytona for Biketoberfest. Diane said Graham was wearing his son’s biker boots at the time.

Graham’s son, 37-year-old Steve Gossett, committed suicide two years ago.
