WWE purchase of Mid-South tape library now official

reported by Jason Namako of Wrestleview.com

The Miami Herald is reporting that the WWE has officially reached a deal with Ene Watts, the ex-wife of Mid-South owner and WWE Hall of Famer “Cowboy” Bill Watts, to purchase an estimate of 1,200 hours of video footage from the Mid-South tape library. Ene Watts had secured the tape library in the divorce with Bill Watts many years ago. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross commented on what is interesting about the purchase: “Seeing a young Ted DiBiase, Ric Flair as the traveling NWA champion, guys like the Junkyard Dog and Butch Reed who was a great antagonist and a great protagonist — probably under-rated, by and large — and there were so many guys who came through there like the Steiner Brothers and Magnum T.A.”
