WWE Network Update

WWE Network

Reported by Adam Martin of

The Hartford Courant is featuring an article on WWE wanting to add an additional 200 jobs with the creation of the WWE Network. WWE CFO George Barrios is quoted in the article about the proposed network and it appears the company doesn’t have a set strategy yet.

Details about the WWE network are still being worked out, Barrios said. It could be a fully distributed network with advertising and subscription revenue from cable providers, a pay channel, or a network that delivers content directly to viewers’ TV sets or computers, he said.

This is such a bad idea it may tank the company.

I didn’t think it was a bad idea in the beginning, but now that they STILL don’t have their minds made up on what to do and how to do it, I think it’s best that they don’t. They’ll be fine w/o it. Focus on current TV programming and keep the whole Youtube thing going.

So the debuting in 2012 thing isn’t happening, then? I’m shocked, shocked I say.

  4. Scott says:

Kinda like Brodus Clay’s debut. We’ll just get teased for weeks on end about this, then when it finally comes out, people will be loving AND hating it.
