Who does Mick Foley see as the next breakout star? posted an interview with Mick Foley promoting THQ’s “WWE 13.” In the interview, Foley is asked, “who do you see as the next breakout star?”

Foley replied, Carrying the company is something people don’t realize how hard it is to do until they get there. Take CM Punk. Even when he was giving great promos and having great matches, was he carrying the company? Up until a year ago, I would’ve said he’s too different and he’s going to only have that niche market. But then he gave that incredible promo and he changed the business. I’m not sure who has that type of promo in them. I really can’t give you an answer, but there are a lot of guys who are going to be vying for that spot. Daniel Bryan is going to come out of his tag team eventually with an even bigger head of steam as a singles wrestler. Then you have guys like Antonio Cesaro who can do it all and he’s finding his way as a character, so I think there’s no shortage of candidates.

I’m going to be honest here. For once, I really REALLY like the way the company is developing Dolph’s character. It’s the first time in years that they have let someone slow roll into what is an almost certain championship run. I’m impressed that there is this much investment in someone who didn’t get a very good starting run in the company. I said he was the talent in that group to begin with even when people were screaming for Kenny. The matchup that would make it complete is to have him do a program with both Punk and Cena concurrently. Give them both a common foe, with him emerging for his run. Three way match, Dolph, Cena, and Punk. Dolph wins and then later that night cashes in the MITB case. It would be epic. I realize that won’t be a popular move with the marks and smarks, but it’s good for the business. It’s very good for the business.

I like what they have done with Bryan him getting over with the Yes/No chants and goatface and now the Kane team, Vince loves beef so Ryback is da future of dis bidnessss!

For me it’s Dolph Ziggler, Wade Barrett, Damien Sandow, Cody Rhodes, and Antonio Cesaro. CM Punk and Bryan, Miz, those guys have been to the top and go back at any time. The other guys I’ve mentioned haven’t been there but are definitely on their way once the Cenas, Ortons and other move over.

Sure the. Hell is not punk and that. For damn sure been watching. For the 40 years.

Ziggler talks and wrestles like he’s fixin’ to be THEE GUY. Let’s not forget Dolph was thrusts into the Spirit Squad and he made it past that and now he’s the show off with money in the bank. And if his matches against Kofi or anyone for that matter are indication, he’s anything but a flash in the pan. And I know this has zero to do with Dolph… But I still have hope for McIntyre. He’ll make it.

Punk is hot but right now it’s all about the up n comers. And they prove it every single week not by screaming BEST IN THE WORLD!!! But by hitting hard and being consistent with their work. Fans notice and LOVE hard work and perseverance. It’s the stuff of champions.
