Results of Dave Bautista’s MMA Debut

(Thanks to Chad Sears who was live at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI)

Dave Bautista was successful in his professional MMA debut as he defeated Vince Lucero via TKO (Punches) @ 4:05 of the 1st Round. This was a heavyweight bout (265 lbs) where the 40 year old Lucero stepped in on short notice and weighed in at 300 lbs and now sports  a record of 20-23.

Bautista was stunned early with two over hand right hands from Lucero. They ended up clinching against the cage until they referee broke it up and restarted the action. Bautista scored a takedown and transitioned to side control where he pounded away at will until the ref stepped in to call a halt to the bout.

Well he may not have been hurt, but from what I saw if he would have gotten back up chances are it wouldnt have been good. Congrats Batista

Just watched the match, Batista’s opponent looked very out of shape. Maybe i’m watching ufc too much, but damn he was a fatty.

I just finished watching the video. Despite Lucero being a tomato can, Batista put a lot on the line last night. If he were to have been knocked out or submitted, he would have had to lower his quote on a lot of the acting work he does.
