Monday Night Raw 10/1/12           Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, OK

Color commentators: Jim Ross & Michael Cole

Today is the 316th day of CM Punk’s WWE title reign and the champion along with Paul Heyman makes his way to the ring. Cole informs us that tonight is Jim Ross appreciation night. Punk mentions being attacked from behind with a pipe and noted how those would be honorable actions in Oklahoma but not in Chicago.  He says he was looking for medical attention in the back and Mick Foley muttered something under his breath and Punk did what any man would to. He kicked him.

Punk says Foley would never say anything derogatory about John Cena, The Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin. Punk says “Mrs. Foley’s baby boy? Well, she should have taught her baby boy some  manners.” He says some Foley’s words got to him and announces that CM Punk vs. John Cena is still not happening at Hell in a Cell. Punk whispers in Heyman’s ear and gives him the microphone.

Heyman says that now that piece of business is over, lets deal with some relevant business and shows a video from last week with his mock proposal to AJ Lee and Heyman getting slapped in the face. Heyman says AJ never said no but AJ did in fact violate a directive from the board of directors. The letter says AJ shall not touch anyone on the roster. Heyman says AJ Lee must now be removed as the GM of Raw immediately.

Heyman recommends himself as the new GM and is interrupted by “ EXCUSE ME” as Vickie and Dolph Ziggler come out. Vickie says no one has put up with more form AJ than her. She says she still does not have full range of motion in her neck from when AJ attacked her and shows video from the incident that occurred two months ago.

Heyman says this is CM Punk’s time and Vickie yells at him and Heyman tells her to follow his lead and file a grievance through the proper channels. Ziggler says everyone can agree this is all AJ’s fault and suggests Vickie and Paul Heyman should be the co general managers of Raw. Everyone seems to like that idea. AJ’s music hits as she skips to the ring.

AJ says she has been placed on probation by the board of directors and CM Punk quickly yells “GOOD.”  She knew she should not touch anyone but she assumed the board would make an exception for a shady, creepy,  slimy worm like creature such as Heyman. She has been assigned a executive coach to help in her GM development and Daniel Bryan’s music hits as he makes his way to the ring.

Daniel Bryan tells everyone to stop it and says he came out to apologize. He came out to apologize because her mental issues started when he dumped her after Wrestlemania. Bryan twist’s his beard and says he can’t blame her because he is one hell of a catch and yells “I’m the tag team champions” which cues the flames and Kane marches to the ring.

Kane says everyone forgot about the fact that AJ Lee is a phenomenal kisser. Kane says everything Bryan said is true except for one thing. “I’m the tag team champions” which prompts the two to hold up their belts while CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler hold up the belt and MITB brief case. Heyman and Vickie argue with each other in the corner and AJ looks like she is going to snap and yells “That’s enough” and says Raw is still her show. She makes a tag team match featuring Team Hell No vs. Ziggler and Punk for tonight. Next we see Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara backstage, walking to the ring and we go to break.

-Tag Team Tournament Match: Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara vs. Primo & Epico

Epico and Sin Cara begin the match and after exchanging roll ups, Sin Cara hits Epico with a back spring elbow for a two count. Epico comes back with his own back elbow for a one count and tags Primo. Primo lays into Sin Cara with some stiff chops in the corner. Sin Cara bounces off the ropes and delivers a hurricanrana and tags Rey who also hits his own hurricanrana that sends Primo outside the ring. Epico tries to jump in but Sin Cara catches him with a hurricanrana that also sends him out of the ring. They attempt twin dives on to the floor but the Prime Time Players music hits and Darren Young and Titus O’Neil, all dressed up in suits and steel chairs in hand, have a seat on top of the ramp and we go to commercial.

Back from commercial and Epico misses a splash in the corner and Mysterio tags Sin Cara and nails Epico with a drop kick but is met with an elbow in the corner as he charges in. Primo tags in and lays the boots into Sin Cara. Primo goes for a power bomb but Sin Cara rolls through and gets Primo for a close near fall. Epico tags in but is met with a tornado DDT which gives Sin Cara the opening he needs to tag Rey Mysterio. Mysterio hits a leg scissors take over and follows up with seated senton off the top rope for a two count due to Epico breaking up the pin. Primo gets hit with a spring board drop kick from Sin Cara. Sin Cara sets up Primo and Epico and the duo are met with a double 6-1-9 from Rey. Epico rolls out of the ring and Sin Cara hits him with a splash off the top rope while Rey hits Primo with a frog splash for the three count.

Ryder hits the Broski Boot for a two count and sets up for the Rough Ryder but Miz catches him and power bombs him onto the top turnbuckle. Miz connects with the Skull Crushing Finale for the pinfall.

Winner: The Miz

Backstage we see Booker T walking to the ring to moderate the debate between Sheamus and The Big Show.

-The World Championship Debate:

Booker T mentions this is the first time ever The Big Show and Sheamus will face each other. Booker introduces Big Show first who is all dressed up. Sheamus comes out next and the debate begins.

Big Show’s opening statement: He thanks Booker T for the opportunity, stops for a few seconds, and says no, no thank you because this debate is ridiculous. He says he is going to walk into Hell in a Cell, hit Sheamus with the WMD and leave as champion and if Sheamus tries to hit him with that little Brogue Kick, he will rip his leg off.

Sheamus’ opening statement: He introduces himself and thanks Booker T for holding the debate. He asks Big Show not to rip his leg off because he will need it to kick his teeth out.

Twitter Question from @Tom-Roscoe – What do you both find as the most challenging aspect of your opponents?

Sheamus: He has been a fighter all of his life and he is looking forward most in this match, is the fight. He has never faced a more impressive superstar than the Big Show. Sure, he has bad BO and bad breath but his biggest concern is this match last longer than 45 seconds.

Big Show: He is angry about the 45 second jab and says he is a hygienic giant. He tells Sheamus to stop being a funny guy and take things seriously.

Twitter Question from @SeanOZone – Who has the more dangerous move? The Brogue Kick or the W.M.D.?

Big Show: His W.M.D. has knocked out more people and won more titles and just ask John Cena and Randy Orton. Also doubts that Sheamus can get his “chubby little leg” up high enough for the Brogue Kick.

Sheamus: Says he didn’t hit Daniel Bryan with the W.M.D. and he lost the World Heavyweight Title in 45 seconds.

Show gets even more upset and tells Booker T he can’t allow Sheamus to continue with the jokes. He knocks over his podium as Sheamus calls him pudgy. Yells one more time about this not being serious. Sheamus says we need to get serious and says he promised his cousin, Rey Mysterio Sullivan, that he would show his Tout. Rey Mysterio Sullivan is Sheamus in a Mysterio mask and asks Big Show how will if feel to get his head kicked off his shoulders.

Sheamus asks how it feels to lose the World Heavyweight Title in 45 seconds to Daniel Bryan only for Bryan to lose it to him in 18 seconds and with a serious look on his face he asks how does it feel. The two are ready to come to blows until Big Show steps over the top rope and leaves.

-Ryback vs. Tensai

Ryback applies a headlock but is shoved off and dropped with a shoulder block. Tensai tries to whip Ryback in the corner but Ryback reverses it and whips Tensai in the corner and is met with forearm to the jaw. Tensai bounces off the ropes but Ryback counters with a powerslam and hits the meat hook clothesline. Ryback tries to lift him up for Shell Shock but was unable to do so. Ryback hits another meat hook clothesline for a three count. Cole and Ross covered it up by saying Ryback was switching things up and using another weapon in his arsenal.

Winner Ryback

Rhodes Scholars are backstage mocking the debate and comment on how they would never let the WWE Universe chose their name.

-Eve vs. Beth Phoenix

They show footage from Smackdown where Eve suspended Beth and Booker reversing it later in the evening. Eve is begging for forgiveness and extends the olive branch. Beth shakes her hand and takes her down and lays the boots to her. Beth places her in the corner and charges in but Eve moves and Beth posts her shoulder and falls outside the ring. Beth is holding her shoulder on the outside and Eve comes out and slams Beth into the ring apron, slams her on the floor and throws her into the ringside barricade. Eve runs back in the ring hoping to get a count out victory but Beth gets back in the ring before the 10 count.

Beth hits an inverted atomic drop and hits a double ax handle sledge hammer to the chest of Eve. Beth sets up another move but Eve claims she was poked in the eye and Beth charges in while the referee steps in between them. Eve finds the opportunity to kick Beth in the stomach and hits the neck breaker for the pin.

Winner: Eve

Backstage: AJ introduces Wade Barrett to her executive coach, Stevenson. Barrett says he is glad someone here to teach her how to do her job because he is not even wrestling tonight. He tells her she is doing a horrible job and says she lets emotions go over the place. He offers her some advice and tells her to stop letting her personal relationships get in the way of her job. Barrett walks away and AJ looks at her coach and says with a creepy look on her face “I think you are intimidated.”

-Santino Marella vs. Heath Slater w/ Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre

They trade shoulder tackles with neither man going down. Santino charges in again and is met with  back elbow from Slater. During the match, JR kept harping how these three came together and asking what do they have in common considering their diverse backgrounds.

Back in the ring, Sandow lands several knee drops and brings Sheamus in the corner and rams his shoulder into the gut of Sheamus. Sandow applies a headlock and Sheamus punches his way out but Sandow cuts him off with the side Russian Leg Sweep and follows it with the Cubito Aequet elbow drop for a two count.

Sandow covers Sheamus for a two count and in frustration, covers him again for another two count. Sandow applies another headlock and Sheamus comes back with a belly to back suplex and hits a knee lift. Sheamus hits a fireman’s carry roll through and picks up Sandow but Sandow counters with a neck breaker for a two count. Sandow stomps Sheamus in the corner and charges in for a shot but Sheamus gets his feet up and pulls himself to the top rope and delivers a flying shoulder tackle. Sheamus attempts white noise but Sandow elbows his way out and tries to duck out under the bottom rope but Sheamus catches him and hits him with the ten forearms to the chest. Sandow falls down straight down on his face from the apron to the floor. Sheamus throws him back in the ring and catches Rhodes trying to sucker punch him and throws him in the ring as well and hits a double Brogue Kick on the duo and covers Sandow for the pin. Jim Ross said this was Damien Sandow’s best match since his debut in the WWE.

Winner: Sheamus

-Jim Ross Appreciation Night

In the ring; Michael Cole calls Jim Ross the voice of the WWE for over three decades and introduces Ross as he makes his way down the ramp and to the ring. Cole congratulates him on having appreciation night in Oklahoma City and asks how emotional is he? Before JR could answer; CM Punk along with Paul Heyman come to the ring.

CM Punk takes the mic from Cole and says he won’t need it anymore and tells him to sit down at the commentary table. CM Punk mockingly tells the crowd to chant “JR, JR, JR.” Punk says JR is the best announcer we have and respects the hell out of him. Punk says the fans respect JR but the fans don’t know what respect means. He says the fans turned their back on him and he will be the shining example of respect. Punk puts his arm around JR and tells him to tell the fans he is the best in the world. JR thanks him for not embarrassing him and says Punk has been doing a hell of a job of embarrassing himself and making himself look like a jackass.

CM Punk says he is not surprised by Ross’ comments and says he treats him like gold when everyone else in the back makes fun of him. He says Ross doesn’t understand the gravity of the situation and no one can help him. Not Jerry Lawler and not Stone Cold Steve Austin. Punk says 3:16 use to mean Austin would beat your ass but now it means 316 days that CM Punk has been the WWE Champion. He demands JR tells all of the fans that Punk is the best in the world. Ross says he will not say it and that he has been blessed that he has had the chance to call matches with the best in the world. He mentioned Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, HHH, Undertaker and Steve Austin. Ross says they all became the best in the world because they earned it and never made anyone say it. Ross goes on to say if Punk beats Cena at Hell in a Cell, he will be the first in line to say CM Punk is the best in the world.

CM Punk flips off JR’s hat and stomps on it. He mentions how the Oklahoma Thunder lost to the Miami Heat and they go to the back of the line and same goes for Cena since he beat him time and time again. Punk tells Ross to put his hands up and either fight him or leave. JR tries to leave but Punk grabs him and says “Where to you think you’re going?” Punk tells JR that he will not take his seat back at commentary and he is to walk up the ramp while looking down at the ground so he can take the walk of shame in front of the fans. He says Ross better leave or he will put him in the ground. Punk says Ross is not  Hall of Famer but a  joke. Ross keeps walking and Ryback makes his way to the ring and tells JR to come with him. They are in the ring and Ryback is staring down CM Punk with loud “Feed Me More” chants from the crowd. Punk drops the microphone and slowly leaves the ring to a course of boos. Punk holds up the WWE title as he makes his way up the ramp while Heyman tells Punk “You are the best in the world and you don’t fight for free.”

Del Rio stomps Kofi in the corner, picks him up and applies the cross arm breaker. Kofi fights it for a few seconds but eventually taps out.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

Backstage: Christopher J. Stevenson tells AJ in order to be a good leader she needs to  puts what’s best for the show first. AJ says he is right say she will make tonight special. She suggests the main event should have a special guest referee and tells Stevenson that he will be the referee. Stevenson is shocked and AJ says Stevenson has never been a player and that she doesn’t  need a coach and much less an executive one. She yells some more at Stevenson and tells him to get out of her arena and out of her sight. Daniel Bryan and Kane make their way to the ring and once in the ring, they argue over who the tag champions really are as we go to commercial.

-Daniel Bryan & Kane vs. CM Punk w/ Paul Heyman & Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie Guerrero

Kane goes after him but Bryan tags himself in and they argue as we go to commercial.

We are back from the final commercial break and Ziggler has Kane in a sleeper hold. Kane looks like he might be fading but he is able to back up Ziggler in the corner. Kane starts opening up on Ziggler with rights and lefts and makes the tag to Daniel Bryan. Bryan hits Ziggler with a running drop kick in the corner and only gets a two count. Kane tags back in and hits a seated dropkick for a two count. Ziggler comes back with a kick to the gut and jumping DDT and makes the tag to CM Punk. Punk lands two flying knees onto Kane in the corner and attempts the running bull dog but Kane cuts him off with a sidewalk slam for a two count. Kane climbs to the top rope and connects with a flying clothesline and signals for the choke slam but Bryan tags himself in. The champions argue and Punk hits him with drop kick.

CM Punk lays the boots to Bryan in the corner and he stops when he hears AJ start the count to get out of the corner. Punk whips Bryan into the corner but Bryan quickly climbs to the second rope and back flips over Punk and hits him with a running clothesline. Punk is down and Bryan measures him for some kicks to the chest, lands seven of them and goes for the finishing blow but Punk pushes Bryan into the corner and Bryan is able to knock Ziggler off the apron. Bryan walks into a CM Punk high kick that drops him. Ziggler tags in and connects with a standing dropkick that sends Bryan out of the ring. Ziggler follows and throws Bryan into the ring side barricade two times and throws him back in the ring. CM Punk tags in and climbs to the top rope but Bryan meet him up top and hits a double under hook suplex off the top rope.

Bryan transitions into the No Lock and CM Punk fights to the rope as Heyman pushes the bottom rope so Punk can reach it. AJ sees it and ejects Heyman. Vickie jumps on the apron and AJ also ejects her as well. Ziggler takes the MITB briefcase and follows Vickie back to the locker room. CM Punk can’t believe he is being left alone and this cause a long enough distraction for Daniel Bryan to drop kick CM Punk from behind. Kane tags in and hits the choke slam and that’s all she wrote

Winner: Daniel Bryan & Kane

Daniel Bryan and Kane celebrate their victory begin to stare at each other and take turns holding up their tag title belt while yelling at one another “I’m the tag team champions” to close out the show.
