A recap of the events surrounding No Surrender airs, which shows Jeff Hardy winning the BFG Series, Bobby Roode made his return and attacked James Storm, and Hulk Hogan locking down the Impact Zone due to the involvement of Aces and Eights. We then head into the live Impact Zone where Mike Tenay says we will see all the fallout from No Surrender as we are on the final road to Bound for Glory.
Austin Aries’ music hits as the TNA World Champion makes his way down to the ring. Aries grabs a microphone and puts over the World Championship by saying it is the reason all the wrestlers lace up their boots and why Aces & Eights have been targeting him. He says he took a big chunk out of Aces and Eights at No Surrender and says he is moving on to Bound for Glory and Jeff Hardy.
Aries calls Hardy out to the ring and Hardy answers the request. Aries congratulates Hardy for winning the BFG Series and defying the odds. Aries says he knows first hand how to beat Samoa Joe and Bully Ray, but Hardy did it in one night and even suffered an attack by Aces & Eights. As Aries continues to speak, he is cut off by the music of Bully Ray.
Ray comes out to the ring and Aries is lucky that he doesn’t have to face him at Bound for Glory. Hardy is also lucky that he felt sorry for Hardy at No Surrender and he took his eye off the ball for one second to let Hardy win. Aries steps in and says both of them defeated Ray in the last matches they had and suggests that Hardy wouldn’t mind to take him on once again. Hardy agrees to a match and that match will take place later on tonight.
James Storm is seen walking in the parking lot and appears to be in a foul mood as we head into a commercial break.
Match 1: Sonjay Dutt vs. Zema Ion (X Division Championship)
Prior to this match, both Mike Tenay and Taz give their best wishes to Jerry Lawler and wish for a speedy recovery. I second those thoughts. The bell rings for this No Surrender rematch and Dutt goes immediately on the attack and takes Ion down on the floor with a couple of hurricanranas. Dutt then connects with a moonsault before returning to the ring. Dutt continues on the attack and picks up a near fall.
Ion tries to get in some offense but Dutt has a counter for everything. Ion finally gets Dutt down and locks in submission hold but Dutt counters with a pin attempt for another near fall. Dutt then takes Ion down and hits a top rope flip boot stomp but Ion is able to get his foot on the ropes to break the pin attempt. Dutt goes high risk again and Ion knocks him down to the canvas and rolls Dutt up to pick up the pin fall to retain the X Division Championship. After the match, Ion nails Dutt in the back of the head with his can of hairspray before attacking Dutt’s shoulder and arm with an arm bar.
Christopher Daniels and Kazarian are in Hogan’s office as Hogan walks in. Kazarian is wearing a Hogan shirt and Daniels hands Hogan a martini. Hogan puts their match at No Surrender over and says the two of them are going to be in singles matches tonight and they have a choice of their opponents. They will get a chance to face either Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez and the other will face either Kurt Angle or AJ Styles. If they win their matches, they won’t have to defend the titles against either team.
AJ Styles and Kurt Angle are backstage and Styles wants to get his hands on Kazarian. Angle wonders about Styles’ emotional state against the team but Styles promises to deliver and win the match. Wes Brisco comes out and Angle tells him to go watch Styles’ match with him.
A recap of James Storm’s match against Bully Ray at No Surrender is aired. Roode involved himself in the match and smashed a beer bottle over Storm’s head allowing Ray to win the match. Roode’s music hits as he makes his way to the ring wearing a suit. Roode gives a recap of what has gone down with him over the past two months. Roode says he took his ball home, which gave him a chance to sit back and watch his former partner in the BFG Series. He said he couldn’t let Storm get a shot at the World Championship when he couldn’t get one himself.
Storm’s music cuts off Roode as he quickly makes his way to the ring. Storm meets Roode in the ring as the two begin to exchange punches. Storm sends Roode out to the floor and sends him into the guard railing and begins choking Roode with his own tie, which would get you fired from WWE. Storm then drives Roode into the stage wall and takes him out to the parking lot as we head into a commercial break.
A video package on Bound for Glory memories is aired and it’s of the 2009 event where AJ Styles defeated Sting for the TNA World Championship.
Match 2: Kazarian vs. AJ Styles
If Styles wins this match, Styles and Kurt Angle will get a rematch against the Tag Team Champions. The bell rings and Styles takes Kazarian down with a few arm drags and goes for an early Styles Clash but Kazarian counters only to be taken down with a Styles dropkick. Kazarian rolls out to the floor to recover and Styles follows him out and sends him into the guard railing as we head into a commercial break.
We return to teh match and see Kazarian is in control but Styles comes back and takes him down with a backbreaker. The two then battle on the apron where Styles drops Kazarian with a DDT on the ring apron. Styles then sends Kazarian into the guard railing but misses with a springboard off the steps. Kazarian then sends Styles flying with a monkey flip and returns to the ring as the referee starts the 10 count. Styles returns and Kazarian tries a couple of quick pin attempts but Styles kicks out.
Styles begins to mount a comeback and levels Kazarian with a couple of clotheslines and a flying forearm in the corner. Styles then goes for a Styles Clash but Kazarian counters but gets a springboard forearm for his troubles. Styles then connects with a Pele kick and follows with the Styles Clash to pick up the pin fall and earn a rematch against the Tag Team Champions.
Hulk Hogan is with Brooke Hogan and tells her that she needs to have a couple of body guards around her at all time. Joseph Park then comes in and says he is making headway with who is behind Aces & Eights and says he is waiting for one key piece of evidence and hopes to get it next week. Hogan tells Park to watch over his daughter as he is going out to the ring to make an announcement about Aces & Eights as we head into a commercial break.
Bully Ray confronts Jeff Hardy in the back and says nobody punks him out. Ray then challenges Hardy to put up his shot at Bound for Glory tonight. Hardy agrees to it after some trash talk from Ray and tells him that he will see him in the ring.
A video package on Aces & Eights is aired before Hulk Hogan makes his way to the ring. Hogan talks about the intensity of the Bound for Glory Series over the past three months and how Hardy rose to the top. Hogan says if Hardy wants to risk it all and put it on the line, he isn’t going to step in his way and makes the stipulation official.
Hogan then turns his attention to Aces & Eights and says the Impact Zone will be locked down forever from this point forward. Aces & Eights appear on the big screen and the garbled voice asks Hogan if they locked them out or if he locked them in. He warns Hogan to have his head on a swivel and that anybody could be a member of Aces & Eights. Hogan then takes a quick peek around as we head into a commercial break.
A recap of what went down with Hulk Hogan and Aces & Eights is aired, just for those who may have missed it. Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez are backstage and talk about the upcoming singles match between Chavo and Christopher Daniels. Chavo says he has this one and that match is up next.
Match 3: Christopher Daniels vs. Chavo Guerrero
The bell rings and Daniels heads out to the ring for a moment before getting back in. The two then lock up and Chavo lands a few strikes before taking Daniels down with a shoulder block. Chavo begins to wear Daniels down with a headlock and picks up a one count after landing a backbreaker. Chavo continues with the headlock but Daniels escape and he retreats to the floor. Chavo follows Daniels out and takes him out with a dive off the apron. Chavo continues on the attack before rolling Daniels into the ring, but Daniels knocks Chavo off the apron and into the railing before he is able to get back into the ring.
Daniels rolls Chavo into the ring and continues to beat down his opponent and picks up a couple of near falls in the process. Chavo fights his way back into the match and the two exchange blows until Chavo takes Daniels down with another backbreaker. Guerrero then hits a couple of shoulder blocks and an hurricanrana for a near fall. Chavo then takes Daniels out to the floor with a hiptoss as Daniels takes a nasty spill. Daniels then grabs his championship belt and brings it to the ring but Chavo doesn’t give him a chance to use it as he hits Daniels with the Three Amigos followed by the Frog Splash to pick up the pin fall and earning a shot at the TNA Tag Team Champions.
A video package on Evan Markopoulos is aired and he is the next TNA Gut Check contestant. Markopoulos talks about watching wrestling growing up and how his parents reacted when he told him he was going to a wrestling school. He says he hasn’t paid his dues and is only 18 years old, but he deserves to be in TNA. We then see Tara walking backstage as we head into a commercial break.
A recap of the brawl between Bobby Roode and James Storm from earlier tonight is recapped. Apparently they can recap what happened but not what happened as they left the locked down Impact Zone. Storm is backstage as says next week is Open Fight Night and it’s going to be good for him and bad for Roode.
Gail Kim talks about winning the first ever TNA Knockouts Championship at Bound for Glory. Mike Tenay then hypes Bound for Glory and next week’s Open Fight Night as Tara’s music hits and she makes her way to the ring.
Tara grabs a microphone and congratulates Miss Tessmacher as her music hits and comes down to the ring with the Knockouts Championship. Tara says Tessmacher beat the teacher at No Surrender and part of her was happy, however, part of her was upset. Tara says Tessmacher will always be her best friend and wants to properly present to her the Knockouts Championship. Tara then takes the belt and puts it around Tessmacher’s waist and raises her arm. The two then hug and Tessmacher poses on the ring ropes with the title as Tara looks on and claps. Tara then takes Tessmacher down with a clothesline as she was turning around and takes her down with the Widow’s Peak and leaves her lying in the ring.
A recap of the finals of the Bound for Glory Series is aired where Jeff Hardy defied the odds and defeated Bully Ray even though he was advised not to wrestle after being attacked by Aces & Eights. Hardy and Ray are seen walking to the ring for tonight’s main event as we head into a commercial break.
Dixie Carter is backstage with Hulk Hogan and agents. She wants to know what the plan is with Aces & Eights as they give her their thoughts on the situation. D’Lo Brown wants to open the doors and Hogan agrees with him. The group begins talking about how people could be on the inside and wonder if one of them is with the group. Audio problems and cheesy cut effects are abundant in this segment that didn’t accomplish much.
Match 4: Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy (Bound for Glory Series Title Shot)
Jeff Hardy may need another drug test after putting his shot at the TNA World Championship up for grabs after fighting through a three month tournament to earn it. At any rate, Bully Ray attacks Hardy from behind before the bell rings to get this match started. Hardy fights back and takes Ray down with a series of strikes and Ray heads out to the floor to regroup. Hardy flies over the top rope and takes Ray out on the floor as we head into a commercial break.
We return to the match to see Hardy take Ray down and picks up a near fall after hitting a splash from the middle rope. Ray then comes back and connects with a boot to the face of Hardy to pick up a near fall of his own. Ray continues on the attack and takes Hardy down with a back body drop and a splash for another near fall. Ray then sends Hardy shoulder first into the steel post as Hardy drops out to the floor. Hardy is slow to get up as the referee begins his 10 count but Hardy breaks the count.
Back in the ring, Ray continues to wear Hardy down but Hardy manages to counter Ray’s attack and hits him with the Whisper in the Wind. Both are slow to get up and begin to exchange strikes while on their knees. The two get to their feet and Hardy hits Ray with an inverted atomic drop and a leg drop for a near fall. Hardy then tries for the Twist of Fate but Ray counters with a Bully Bomb for another near fall. Ray then tries for another Bully Bomb but Hardy counters and lays Ray out with a jumping DDT for a near fall.
Hardy then heads to the top rope but Ray gets up and hits the rope to knock Hardy down. Ray then gets up on the middle rope and takes Hardy down with a superplex. Ray then drapes his arm over Hardy but Hardy kicks out of the pin attempt. Hardy is grabbing his left shoulder as Ray drags him to the corner and misses with the corner splash. Hardy quickly recovers and goes for the Swanton Bomb but Ray moves out of the way and Hardy catches the canvas. Ray then hits another Bully Bomb but Hardy kicks out of the pin attempt. Hardy recovers and hits Ray with the Twist of Fate and then connects with the Swanton Bomb to pick up the pin fall and retain his shot at the TNA World Championship at Bound for Glory. Hardy then plays to the crowd and celebrates his victory as Impact Wrestling comes to a close.
