Report: WWE turns a profit on release of “No Holds Barred” on DVD

WWE earned a $300,000 profit on the re-release of Hulk Hogan’s “No Holds Barred” on DVD. The company spent $100,000 on production and marketing of the release. WWE expects their cut of DVD sales to end up at $400,000.

Note: That makes it the third most profitable movie the WWE has put out in the last five years.

Not surprised this went well. Warner’s Archive mentioned directly they would have put it out if WWE had not gotten the rights to it back.

People were willing to pay for it so WWE made a nice profit on it

There’s such an amazing archive of matches and appearances that were done to tie in with the movie’s release that it’s disappointing to see the DVD was completely bare bones. Anyone else recall the promo with Macho Man, Zeus and Sensational Sheri where Sheri is climbing the cage and just keeps shouting, “Cage!” over and over again?

@Greg, rotfl one of the best promos EVER, she should have included some of that indeed.
