1989 – WCCW and CWA merge to form the USWA

Events

In 1996, WCW Kollision in Korea (Collision in Korea on the VHS release) aired on PPV. The event was taped over 2 days, the 28th and 29th April 1995 in Pyongyang, North Korea. It was a joint promotion between WCW and NJPW and was the first major appearance of an American wrestling promotion in the country. It also set the as yet unbeaten record for the largest attendance at a wrestling event, with 340,000 people attending over the 2 days

1966 – Fritz von Erich defeats Johnny Valentine to win the WCCW American Heavyweight Title

1969 – Fritz von Erich defeats Johnny Valentine to win the WCCW American Heavyweight Title

1977 – Dick Murdoch defeats Bill Watts to win the TSW North American Title

1984 – Mike von Erich defeats Gino Hernandez to win the WCCW American Heavyweight Title

1989 – Scott Braddock & Cactus Jack defeat Jeff Jarrett & Matt Borne to win the WCCW World Tag Team Titles

2000 – Los Guerreros del Infierno (Rey Bucanero & Ultimo Guerrero) defeat Mr Niebla & Villano IV in the final of a tournament to win the vacant CMLL Tag Team Titles

2002 – Bradshaw defeats Tommy Dreamer to win the WWE Hardcore Title, but would lose it back to Dreamer before the end of the night

2008 – on Raw, Batista & John Cena defeat The Legacy (Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Jr) to win the World Tag Team Titles
