Long-time independent wrestler Sara ‘Del Ray’ Amato has parted ways with long-time employers Ring Of Honor Wrestling and Shimmer Woman Athletes as she has signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. The 31-year-old Martinez California native had just returned to Ring Of Honor at their June 29th television tapings, she had previous spent 5-years with the organization from 2006-2011. Amato had also been a mainstay with Shimmer Woman Athletes where she had competed for 7-years after debuting on their inaugural show in 2005. She signed her deal with World Wrestling Entertainment on June 9th.

Sara Amato has competed throughout her career under the names Sara Del Ray, The American Angel, Nic Grimes and Nikki. She was trained by Bryan Danielson, Donovan Morgan, The Pro Wrestling IRON Dojo and at The All Pro Wrestling Boot Camp. She is an 11-year veteran in professional wrestling and has also competed extensively in both Japan and Mexico. Amato has won numerous championships during her career including being a 1-Time Shimmer Champion, a 1-Time Shimmer Tag-Team Champion and she was also the winner of Chikara’s 2011 Torneo Cibernetico. She is probably best remembered for her run as apart of Larry Sweeney’s Sweet & Sour Incorporated along with Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli who she will be joining in World Wrestling Entertainment.

    She’ll have her say in what name she goes by, just like everybody else.

    Everyone bashed the name Kassius Ohno, thinking WWE chose that name for him, but in reality he picked that name.
