Update on Rey Mysterio’s return

Former World Heavyweight champion Rey Mysterio is being advertised to appear at the Smackdown tapings next week in San Diego, California, although chances are he will be participating only in the dark match. The masked Superstar is officially scheduled to be back on WWE television on the 1,000th episode of Monday Night RAW and his appearance in his home town of San Diego is only listed in local advertising, usually resulting in an off-camera appearance. The website for the Valley View Casino Center – the site for Smackdown that day – lists a dark match of Big Show and John Laurinaitis taking on John Cena and Mysterio. Mysterio has been out of action for several months, first undergoing knee surgery in August of last year, and then in April he was busted for his second Wellness violation, resulting in a sixty day suspension. His suspension was lifted at the end of last month.
