Daniels on TNA taking a new approach with production

Scott Fishman / Miami Herald interviewed Christopher Daniels.

“Guys like Eric [Bischoff] and Jason Hervey have come to us with a more fresh and on-the-fly way of doing it, rather than just giving us a script. I feel like it has helped us sharpen our skills. I’ll be walking backstage, and all of a sudden, Jason will come up to me with a camera asking questions. You are answering right off the top of your head, and it’s a more realistic feeling. It’s a more honest answer that you are giving. It’s definitely different…There is a must-see sort of mentality to our television shows. The fact that we are going live and doing so much reality based or hidden camera based, there is an idea that the fans have to tune in. It’s not a matter of when we were taped where they could read spoilers on the Internet. They have to watch and see how it rolls. They are getting surprised and caught off guard with what we are doing. I think it’s awesome.”

I kinda see the Hidden camera stuff as the opposite, it’s stupid, comes off low-brow and most of the time IMO takes away from the otherwise good show.

that’s why I wnated them to go live so much. Glad they did it :)

I’m a big fan of Christopher Daniels, especially heel Daniels because he’s such a good mic worker and how he’s not TNA World Champion yet is a mystery. But this current approach Daniels describes is great because without a tightly choreographed WWE like script, the fans are seeing just who the best mic workers are. TNA going live on Thursdays was the best thing they’ve done since they swapped the 6 sided ring for the more conventional 4 sided ring.

My only complaint is I don’t like the current storyline Daniels and AJ have for their feud. It makes them both look ridiculous when the IWC know that they are real life best friends and Godparents to each other’s children who share their names. Other than that, I’m looking forward to Daniels vs AJ this Sunday at Destination X. Match of the night!

Scott, in all fairness, regular watchers of TNA know that they named their kids after each other and are godparents, etc, etc. They bring it up ad nauseum every time they start to feud again (which seems to be about ever 4 months now).
