Report: Former WWE champ nearly quit the promotion

Former WWE champion Alberto Del Rio threatened to quit World Wrestling Entertainment last week. Del Rio reportedly got into a dispute with WWE management and was prepared to walk out. Conflicting reports have the dispute over Del Rio’s spot in the company and his current contract. Del Rio was set to face Sheamus at the No Way Out PPV, but was pulled due to a concussion. A source in WWE questions the concussion story, and feels it may have been a cover for the current dispute.

PJ, I’ve hated the guy since day 1.

He’s two dimensional, has not improved a lick since getting on TV (AND he wrestled long before coming to the States and has a moveset similar to Kevin Nash, that’s sad.)

He brings absolutely nothing to the table, other than to fill the WWE’s minority field. As I have said before, the WWE has openly stated officially, the one major reason for his push in the first place, was to have a “top guy” induct Mil Mascaras into the Hall of Fame.

His move set is boring, uninspiring, and on the level of a beginner. His mic skills are repetitive, sound forced, and gain no reaction.

What is his worth exactly… other than being the son of a Mexican legend? About the same as Randy being the son of a US lege…. er… mid-carder. Name doesn’t mean “instant success.” In Del Rio’s case, it should mean opening act.

And he says Sin Cara is full of himself.
