Update on Matt Morgan’s contractual status with TNA

Just to clear up any internet rumors, Matt Morgan announced in 2009 via Twitter that he had signed a five year contract with TNA. This confirms our reports that he has multiple years left on his existing TNA deal. He wouldn’t become a free agent until October 2014.

Looking back at TNA wrestlers thought it seems like they say on Twitter all the time that they signed longer contracts then they really do. I forget who it was but a few years ago somebody said they signed a multi-year contract & then a year later they had said they signed one again & then a few months later their contract was up.

From what I’ve gathered over the years TNA does a “Number of Events” contract instead of a flat “Years” contract with most of their Mid-Card, with it being done as a Minimum of dates per year. Lets say he signed for 300 days with a minimum of 60 dates per year then that would be a 5 year contract, however if they used 120 dates per year instead of 60 then his contract would be up in 2.5 years instead of 5.

WWE Marks? Personally I’m a Matt Morgan mark and he hasn’t been used right in TNA since they jumped on the “Crimson is the #1 Bigman Bandwagon”.. Gonna be interesting to see how that changes now too that he has a loss (meaning they’ve decided to end the undefeated push) and that TNA is rumored to have signed Heidenreich.
