Update on Ric Flair

Reported by Adam Martin of Wrestleview.com

According to a report by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ric Flair is reportedly no longer under contract with TNA and hasn’t been paid by TNA on his contract. Flair is believed to have quit the promotion on or around 5/9 and stopped showing up to events he was scheduled for. He is named in TNA’s lawsuit against WWE although WWE claims that TNA terminated his contract before filing the lawsuit.

  2. MoneyInTheBank187 says:

WWE disputing when his contract expired definitely makes it look like Ric Flair is returning to the WWE in some capacity.

I get a good laugh at all of these moronic smarks that now want to see Flair back in the WWE. These are the same tools that called Flair over the hill and an embarrassment when he was in TNA. Typical IWC double standards.

  7. Really? says:

“WWE claims that TNA terminated his contract before filing the lawsuit.”

I could’ve sworn WWE said they didn’t read that information the ex-TNA guy gave them…

  8. brandon says:

@Zomas just like the TNA marks who said Kevin Nash was great in TNA now say he should retire since he’s saying he will be running Raw tonight.

  9. Joan B. in S. C. says:

@Really?, I was wondering the exact same thing!

  10. -J- says:

tna should hire the great david flair, and even the playing field.

  11. Kerry says:

Ric Flair has a reputation of not following through on his business obligations.

  12. jim says:

I love how everyone on this site calls eachother marks its pretty funny

  13. dave says:

    @Jim, yes indeed, ironic..

Flair may have informed WWE about his status since or before the HOF.

He’ll still make a good manager for someone, he’s a prescence whether in TNA or WWE or in some local promotion, the guy captures the audience, like him or not personally.

  14. Really? says:

@brandon, what TNA marks said Kevin Nash was great in TNA? Other than some funny comedy skits with the X Division guys where he tested them for steroids, all he did was what he’s done for years now…call in sick if he was supposed to put somebody over.

  15. Zach says:

This was coming, so it’s not to be surprised. He most likely will end up in the WWE again, but that’s how it goes, truth is if Hogan was done in TNA and needed some more money he would probably end up in the WWE again. Look at the facts; Christian Cage, Booker T., Kevin Nash, Sean Waltman, Scott Hall, and R-Truth all bounced back to the WWE after TNA runs, it happens, people are going to go where the money is. I’ve never understood why many everyone thinks an entire roster has to be loyal to one company, when no one company is loyal to an entire roster, plus what about the great 90’s when everyone jumping ship every which way and it seemed completely fine back then. All I’m saying is I hope Ric and Kevin have fun in WWE on their latest runs there. I’m a bigger TNA fan than that of the WWE but I love the industry as a whole and have much respect for the things Ric Flair did for this business.
