~ The full list of UFC on FX 3 medical suspensions included:
Matt Grice: Indefinite suspension pending orthopedic clearance due to possible left foot fracture
Josh Neer: Suspended 60 days for precautionary reasons due to knockout
Eddie Wineland: Suspneded 60 days due to forehead laceration
Scott Jorgensen: Suspended 60 days due to possible concussion
Lance Benoist: Suspended 45 days sue to lacerations on right eyebrow and under right eye
Sean Pierson: Suspended 45 days due to scalp laceration
Justin Salas: Suspended 30 days due to chin laceration
~ Michael Bisping underwent successful knee surgery earlier this week. The UFC middleweight contender, who recently pulled out of a UFC 149 fight with Tim Boetsch because of the ailment, now is planning a quick return to the cage. In fact, Bisping anticipates a return to training in just three to four weeks. On Wednesday, he successfully underwent surgery in Los Angeles with Dr. Steve Mora. He was home and in crutches on the same day.
~ The traditional fighter weigh-ins for next week’s UFC on FX 4 event takes place Thursday, June 21. Revel Atlantic City in New Jersey plays host to the festivities, which kick off at 4 p.m. ET (1 p.m. PT). Door open at 1:30 p.m. ET
~ Dan Miragliotta has been assigned referee duties for the UFC on FX 4 main event between Gray Maynard & Clay Guida. The event takes place at Revel Atlantic City in Atlantic City, N.J. The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board also revealed that Eric Colon, Sue Sanidad, & Jose Tabora will judge the lightweight bout.
~ Veteran referee Yves Lavigne will officiate next month’s UFC 148 headliner and rematch between middleweight champion Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen. Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer confirmed the assignment. Additionally, Patricia Morse Jarman, Junichiro Kamijo and Chris Lee will serve as the five-round title fight’s judges. UFC 148 takes place July 7 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
