-Smackdown opens up with a video package about Kane getting a WWE Championship Match against CM Punk later tonight. They changed it to say that this is the first time in four years that the WWE Championship will be defended on Smackdown. We see the Smackdown opening video and Josh Mathews welcomes us to the show from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

-Sheamus makes his way to the ring and we are reminded that he will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto Del Rio at No Way Out. We see a replay of the Triple Threat Match between Del Rio, Randy Orton, and Kane last week where Del Rio became the number one contender and Sheamus coming out and attacking Del Rio. Sheamus said he was just setting the tone for their match at No Way Out. David Otunga makes his way out to the ring. We see the footage from two weeks ago when Sheamus ran into John Laurinaitis on Raw. Otunga orders him to apologize. Sheamus says if Laurinaitis wants an apology, he can ask for it himself. Alberto Del Rio makes his way to the ring. He calls Sheamus a hooligan. Del Rio says Sheamus will be sorry, because he will leave No Way Out as the new World Heavyweight Champion. Otunga says Sheamus’ opponent for tonight will be chosen by Del Rio. Sheamus says he is sorry, but not for what he did to Laurinaitis. He delivers a Brogue Kick to Otunga as Del Rio escapes the ring. Sheamus tells Del Rio to never trust a hooligan.

-We see that we will revisit The Big Show’s domination from Monday Night Raw this past week and that Sin Cara will return next.

-Match #1: Heath Slater vs. Sin Cara
The match goes back a forth for a bit and Sin Cara takes advantage with a cross body off of the top rope to the outside that takes Slater down to the floor. They get back into the ring and Slater takes Sin Cara down with a boot to the face. Slater stomps away on Sin Cara and puts him in a headlock, but he powers out and kicks Slater’s legs and connects with a springboard elbow. Slater goes to the corner and launches Sin Cara over the top rope, but he lands on the apron and kicks Slater in the head. Sin Cara plants Slater after he looked to be going for a head-scissor takedown for the pin fall. Winner: Sin Cara.

-We get more hype for the WWE Championship Match between CM Punk and Kane later tonight.

-Match #2: Damien Sandow vs. Ezekiel Jackson
Sandow says he is standing in front of another ignoramus and will, therefore, not compete. Sandow goes to leave, but Jackson brings him back into the ring. Jackson gets a few shots in on Sandow in the corner, but Sandow gets up and connects with some knees and takes Jackson down. Sandow goes for the cover, but Jackson kicks out at two. Jackson gets a couple of forearm shots in, but Sandow reverses and hits his neck-breaker finisher for the pin fall. Winner: Damien Sandow.

-Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez are backstage when Dolph Ziggler walks up. Ziggler says he wants to face Sheamus tonight and Del Rio chooses him to do it. They shake hands and Ziggler walks away.

-We see that Ryback will be in action next.

-Match #3: Handicap Match: Chris Lyons and Ryan Shelton vs. Ryback
The jobbers cut a promo before the match and chant, “Roll, Tide, Roll,” which draws heat from the Louisiana crowd. Quick note: The two jobbers weigh 320 pounds combined. Ryback weighs 291. Ryback catches Lyons and kicks Shelton to the mat and then power slams Lyons down. Ryback slams Lyons to the mat again, slings him into Shelton, and slams him down again. Ryback destroys Shelton with a clothesline and slams Lyons into the mat again. Ryback hits both men with his muscle buster finisher, simultaneously. He makes the pin fall on both of them. Winner: Ryback.

-We see the Raw Rebound, which covers The Big Show’s domination from the end of the show.

-Vickie Guerrero comes out and is about to say something, but Dolph Ziggler takes the microphone from her and says he will beat Sheamus.

-Match #4: Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) vs. Sheamus
They tie up and Sheamus shoves Ziggler into the ropes, but Ziggler stops his momentum. Sheamus takes Ziggler down and puts him in a headlock, but Ziggler powers out and sends Sheamus off the ropes, but Sheamus comes back and takes Ziggler down with a shoulder block. Ziggler comes back with a drop kick and goes for the cover, but Sheamus powers out before even a one count. Sheamus takes Ziggler down with a shoulder block and goes for the cover, but Ziggler kicks out at one. Ziggler pounds away on Sheamus in the corner and goes for a cross body from the top rope, but Sheamus catches him and takes him down with the rolling plunge and goes for the cover, but Ziggler kicks out at two. Sheamus tosses Ziggler over the top rope as we head to a commercial break. We get back from the commercials and Ziggler is working over Sheamus’ arm in the ring. Sheamus powers out and takes Ziggler down with some clubbing blows. Ziggler tries to escape the ring, but Sheamus grabs his foot before the referee steps in and Sheamus lets go, which allows Ziggler to go to the outside. As Sheamus goes to the outside, Ziggler gets back into the ring. He puts a shoulder into Sheamus’ midsection and drapes his neck over the top rope. Ziggler dropkicks Sheamus off the apron and he hits the announcers’ table. Ziggler hits a neck breaker and goes for the cover, but Sheamus kicks out at one. Ziggler chokes Sheamus over the middle rope and applies a headlock to keep Sheamus on the mat. Ziggler connects with a DDT and goes for the cover, but Sheamus kicks out at two. Ziggler hits a jumping elbow and goes for the cover, but Sheamus kicks out again and Ziggler applies another headlock. Ziggler goes for his sleeper hold finisher, but Sheamus takes him over the top rope and delivers his vintage ten blows to Ziggler’s chest. Sheamus suplexes Ziggler back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Ziggler kicks out at two. Sheamus hits Ziggler with the Irish Curse back-breaker and goes for the cover, but Ziggler kicks out again. Sheamus goes to the top rope, but Ziggler knocks him onto the turnbuckle and then hits a huge face-buster from the top rope. Ziggler goes for the cover, but Sheamus kicks out at two. Ziggler goes for the Zigzag, but Sheamus counters into White Noise. Jack Swagger comes out and tries to distract Sheamus, but Sheamus connects with a forearm shot and shoves Ziggler into Swagger. Sheamus connects with a Brogue Kick on Ziggler for the pin fall. Winner: Sheamus.

-We are reminded of tonight’s main event, which is CM Punk defending the WWE Championship against Kane.

-CM Punk is backstage getting interviewed by Matt Striker. Punk says he embarrasses John Laurinaitis every time he successfully defends the WWE Championship. Punk says he is everything that Laurinaitis hates in the world, and Laurinaitis is everything that Punk hates. He says tonight, the Best in the World will make the Devil’s Favorite Demon go to sleep.

-Match #5: Darren Young and Titus O’Neil vs. Santino Marella and Zack Ryder.
Marella and Young start the match and Young takes Marella down with a knee and a club to the back. Young hits an elbow drop and tags in O’Neil and they hit their double team slam on Marella. O’Neil stomps Marella a couple of times and tags Young back in. Young beats Marella in the corner and Ryder tries to make the save, but Young takes him down as well. Young tosses Marella into the corner and charges at him, but Marella goes over and rolls Young up for the pin fall. Winners: Santino Marella and Zack Ryder. After the match, The Big Show came out and attacked Marella and Ryder. Show shoves Marella into the set and then Ryder into the ring steps. Show takes the steps onto the stage and slams Ryder on top of them. He dumps Ryder off of the steps and drags them to the top of the stage and shoves Marella into them. He applies a Camel Clutch and then connects with a WMD Punch on Marella and walks to the back.

-A.J. is backstage when she runs into Daniel Bryan. Bryan tells her that CM Punk is using her and she says Bryan is jealous. Bryan says she doesn’t care what she does, but he did at one time, which is more than Punk.

-Christian has joined the commentary team for the following match and we see a WWE Rewind of Christian’s triumphant return at Over the Limit.

-Match #6: Cody Rhodes vs. Tyson Kidd
Kidd gets a couple of kicks in on Rhodes, but Rhodes takes advantage and slams Kidd to the mat and goes for the cover, but Kidd kicks out. Kidd turns the tide and goes for the Sharpshooter, but Rhodes shoves him into the middle rope. Rhodes connects with Cross Rhodes for the pin fall. Winner: Cody Rhodes. After the match, Rhodes and Christian stare each other down before Rhodes departs up the ramp.

-We see Kane walking backstage and the main event is next.

-Match #7: WWE Championship Match: CM Punk vs. Kane
They circle each other in the ring before Punk gets Kane backed into the corner. Punk gets a few shots in, but Kane reverses and pounds away on Punk in the corner. Kane charges at Punk, but he pulls the rope down and Kane goes to the outside. Punk goes to the top rope and connects with a blow to Kane. They both get back into the ring and Punk works on Kane in the corner, but he hesitates and Kane connects with an uppercut that takes Punk down to the mat. Kane takes advantage for a bit, but Punk comes back and dropkicks Kane’s knee as he is charging and Kane goes head-first into the middle turnbuckle. Punk takes Kane to the corner and slams Kane’s arm around the ring post. Punk continues to work on Kane’s arm in the corner, but he hesitates and Kane takes him down with a big boot and a right hand. Kane goes for the cover, but Punk kicks out. Punk works on Kane’s arm more, but Kane powers out and shoves Punk over the top rope to the floor as we head to a commercial break. We get back from the break to see Punk working on Kane’s arm more. Kane knocks Punk off the ropes to the floor and A.J. makes her way down to the ring. Kane goes to the outside and drapes Punk over the barricade. Kane rolls Punk back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Punk kicks out at two. Kane slams Punk to the mat and drops an elbow and goes for the cover, but Punk kicks out again. Kane wrenches Punk’s neck, but Punk powers out and comes off of the ropes. Kane catches him and goes for a choke slam, but Punk counters into a DDT. Punk hits Kane with two high knees in the corner and goes for the bulldog, but Kane reverses and goes for a side slam, but Punk counters into a neck breaker and goes for the cover, but Kane kicks out at two. Punk connects with a couple of kicks and tries to take Kane down, but Kane catches Punk and goes for a power slam. Punk counters and kicks Kane in the head and goes for the cover, but Kane kicks out at two. Kane shoves Punk off the rope and connects with a big boot and goes for the cover, but Punk kicks out at two. Kane shoves Punk into the corner, but Punk reverses and hits the bulldog and goes for the cover, but Kane kicks out again. Punk goes for the GTS, but he falls under Kane’s weight and Kane slams him and goes for the cover, but Punk kicks out at two. Kane jumps off the top rope, but Punk dropkicks him in the midsection. Punk goes to the top rope but A.J. yells at him and he sees Daniel Bryan running to the ring. Punk jumps off the top rope onto him and takes him down on the floor. Punk goes back to the top and connects with a flying elbow drop on Kane and goes for the cover, but Kane kicks out at two. Punk comes off the top rope again, but Kane counters with an uppercut. Kane grabs Punk and attempts a choke slam, but Bryan comes off the top rope and hits a dropkick on both men and the referee calls for the bell to signal a double disqualification. After the match, Bryan stomps away on Punk and kicks him in the corner before Punk comes back and Kane his both of them with a double choke slam. John Laurinaitis comes out and announces that CM Punk will defend the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan and Kane in a Triple Threat Match at No Way Out.

-Smackdown comes to a close with Punk, Bryan, and A.J. all in the ring together.
