Update on the NWA Lawsuit

May 23, 2012 - by Steve Gerweck

filed to GERWECK.NET:

Here is a quick update from the Cameron County Court Room of Judge Arturo McDonald. Last week “former” NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich was held in contempt of court and sanctioned $500 a day by Judge McDonald for failing to appear and answer questions about the NWA bank account that has been “missing” for months.

The trial is scheduled to begin this Thursday May 24 in the Cameron County Court in front of Judge McDonald.

I have obtained a copy of a confidential email sent by NWA board member Fred Rubenstein to all current NWA members. I have cut and pasted the email in order to protect the source who forwarded me the email. Rubenstein followed up the attached email with a correction of the next hearing date in Cameron County which will be April 3, 2012, not April 3, 2011.

Rubenstein was one of 5 or 6 different witnesses who testified in court on April 13 in this matter.

Based on the first line of the email, it is also obvious that others have joined Tharpe in this litigation against Pro Wrestling Organization LLC dba the National Wrestling Alliance and it’s board members individually.

Additionally, members who firmly stood behind Trobich previously are now wavering in light of new allegations which are now becoming public. This matter previously polarized members in to different camps, but mounting allegations against Trobich are weakening the core of members which have protected his position thus far.

I will inform you of more as it develops.
