Update on Rey Mysterio’s contractual status with WWE

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE has extended the contract of Rey Mysterio basically the length of time from when he suffered his knee injury (August) until his return, so that will end up being roughly 10 or 11 months added to the end of the deal.

Meltzer also notes that there had been speculation that he might end in AAA when his WWE contract expired.

Why would Rey go back to AAA, probably for less money?

American starts make a pretty nice amount………and mostly they can softern their pay to hide from u.s taxes.

  3. Mr. Black says:

I could see him working with aaa for a few dates, not an active member of their roster. I really hope mysterio and daniel Bryan have a program when he returns.

Are you kidding? In AAA, Rey will be king but he won’t be allowed to wear the mask..I am sure they would riot.

But he’ll earn plenty in Mexico…jeesh.

  5. Robert Barron says:

The great part of this story is that the WWE was willing to keep him under contract while injured. Kudos to WWE for acknowledging his hard work and dedication to them.
