Update on Ric Flair’s daughter breaking into wrestling

We previously reported that Ric Flair’s daughter Ashley is training to be a professional wrestler. She is actually starting this summer under a WWE developmental deal with Florida Championship Wrestling, rather than signing a TNA developmental contract and starting with Ohio Valley Wrestling.

Interesting. I call that flair leaves tna by the end of the year, at the very least.

  3. Bill says:

Wait a minute…she hasn’t been trained as a pro yet? FCW is going to do all of her training? WWE signing recruits with no wrestling experience…wow…not like that hasn’t happened before…with minimal results.

  4. Robert Barron says:

I agree with Bill. When has that ever really worked out. It’s a proven fact that when they sign guys with tons of experience, they are better off. Examples: CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Alberto Del Rio, Evan Bourne, etc. They have Tyler Black in developmental and I imagine he’ll be on TV soon enough.

  5. Honest Man says:

And WWE has made the majority of the long lasting one at least C level wrestlers. Your point doesn’t hold up to the fact it works. It could be a lot better, but it’s not that bad of a way to start.

  6. Fisha695 says:

Don’t worry I’m sure WCW legend David Flair has taught her a thing or two…. Literally a thing or two not anymore then that. l0l

  7. Mike-Michael says:

Iam not shock she not been trained by George South both Reid & David Trained by George South.

  8. Kerry says:

Come on, guys. This is Ric Flair’s daughter, how much training could she possibly need? HAHAHAHA

  9. Sean B says:

At least wwe didn’t discover her in a modeling magazine like half their current roster of divas.

hopefully she has the dedication to actually learn and master it rather than only getting by on her dads name, cuz bein a ‘flair’ alone isnt gonna make her great.. if anything, people are gonna expect more of her! those are big shoes to fill! lacey von erich is proof.. the fact she’s kerry’s daughter and got into wrestling and worked tv with no wrestling ability made her a bigger disappointment than the models who get into it for the glitz and glamour. u gotta live up to ur family’s name! or dont use flair in her ring name! lol

@Bill, “Wait a minute…she hasn’t been trained as a pro yet? FCW is going to do all of her training? WWE signing recruits with no wrestling experience…wow…not like that hasn’t happened before…with minimal results.’

Since when has WWE cared about in-rig talent though?

  12. -J- says:

Wooo0 can’t wait until they change her name to ashley mcgillicutty.

    ^ Lol.

    Let’s see…

I don’t think I have to talk about David Flair. He was average at best in the ring, and had zero charisma.

I’ve seen Reid Flair wrestle quite a bit here in the Carolina. He’s green, but he seems to have more potential in ring wise then his brother did. That being said, I haven’t heard him talk on the mic…

I’m just shocked WWE is willing to take someone who is green as can be and train her. Odds are, she’ll just be a valet, because if they honestly try to stick her in the ring bad things will probably happen. Little fun fact though, she was a decent volleyball player, so she has some of an athletic background.

That being said, she’s reportedly as wild as her dad AND I do remember reading one time that Flair was beating up one of her boyfriends and Ashley decided it would be a good idea to kick a cop when they showed up to stop Ric.

One final note, she’s good looking enough that WWE might honestly try to push her if she ever got called up to the main roster…

  15. Matthew says:

That just cracks me up. TNA doesn’t have any developmental territories do they?

  16. Bill says:

@Matthew – Not sure if that was sarcasm…but if it wasn’t…they now use OVW.
