Sounds like Jim is a little bitter actually.
Yeah, because passing the torch to a guy a decade older than you, who was irrelevant even then, makes sense.
playing devil’s advocate on this. Duggan does have a point. it used to be a tradition that if you were leaving a promotion and your character was worth anything, you usually put over the talent that was staying in the company. got to the point during the 90′s where people were doing that far less frequently, becoming more self-serving.
don’t get me wrong, i can see not wanting to completely destroy any chances you have of succeeding elsewhere. you just don’t want to burn any bridges either. you never know when you’ll need that same person to return the favor.
