Wrestling By The Numbers: Dustin ‘Goldust’ Runnels



World Wrestling Entertainment has released backstage road agent and producer Dustin ‘Goldust’ Runnels. The 43-year-old Austin Texas native was on his fifth run with the organization that has spanned over a combined 12-years. He first debuted in the WWE back in 1990 and spent a year with the company working alongside his father Dusty Rhodes. Runnels returned to the WWE in 1995 when he debuted and had his most successful run as the mysterious Goldust. He left the company again in 1999 only to return for a two year stint in 2001. He returned for his fourth stint in the company in 2005 before being released for no-showing an event after only one year. His most recent stint with the WWE had started back in 2008 and over the past 4-years has competed inside the ring and held positions backstage.

Dustin Runnels made his professional wrestling debut back in 1988 after having been trained by both his father Dusty Rhodes and Skandor Akbar. He has been a true journeyman wrestler making stops in almost all the major promotions during his career. Prior to first debuting in the WWE in 1990 he had stops in both All Japan Pro Wrestling and also Florida Championship Wrestling. He had two stints with World Championship Wrestling for a combined 6-years competing for the company. He has also had 2-stints with TNA Wrestling from 2004-2006 and from 2007-2008. In 2007 he also returned for the second time for a short stint with All Japan Pro Wrestling in the orient.
