~ Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Ricco “Suave” Rodriguez (48-18) prolonged his recent losing slum on Friday when he was defeated by Stav Economou via unanimous decision. The bout headlined the 1st ever Dubai Fighting Championship titled, The Beginning. This was Rodriguez’s 3rd bout of the year, he’s lost 4 straight bouts, and is 1-7 in his last 8 bouts.
~ UFC middleweight veteran Edwin “Babyface” Dewees lost again on Friday in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Dewees was submitted (Guillotine Choke) by Luke Harris (9-1) at 2:05 into Round 1. The bout was part of Maximum Fighting Championship 33: Collision Course & Dewees’ record falls to 37-16. Dewees appeared on the 4th season of The Ultimate Fighter in 2006.

Pascal Krauss: suspended indefinitely pending X-ray of right foot
Louis Gaudinot: suspended indefinitely pending X-rays of both left and right hands and 30 days for tough fight
Danny Castillo: suspended indefinitely pending X-ray of right hand
Nick Denis: suspended indefinitely pending CT facial (orbits) and CT of head and suspended 30 days for tough fight

~ Saturday’s “UFC on FOX 3: Diaz vs. Miller” event drew a reported 10,788 attendees to IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J., and generated a live gate of $1.1 million. UFC president Dana White revealed the figures at the evening’s post-event press conference. The number of complimentary tickets issued for UFC on FOX 3 was not revealed, but the reported figures indicate the UFC generated an average revenue of $101.97 per ticket issued. The attendance mark makes UFC on FOX 3 the least-attended event in the short history of FOX-broadcast cards.
~ UFC president Dana White confirmed at Saturday night’s UFC on FOX 3 post-event press conference that Nate Diaz did indeed earn a shot at the 155-pound title with his win over Jim Miller. White said Diaz was offered and agreed to stay on the sidelines until he can face the winner of Benson Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar II, which takes place later this year. “I’m just going to wait it out and see what happens,” Diaz said at the press conference.
