~ “The Ultimate Fighter 9″ winner Ross Pearson (13-5 MMA, 5-2 UFC) was arrested in Las Vegas early Sunday morning under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Pearson was arrested and transported to Clark County Detention Center after officers observed erratic driving, citing his inability to maintain a travel lane as their reason for pulling him over. A field sobriety test was issued, and Pearson was subsequently arrested.
~ Michael Bisping (22-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC) travels to New Jersey to host a special open-to-the-public Q&A session prior to Saturday’s “UFC on FOX 3: Diaz vs. Miller” event. UFC officials recently announced the May 4 session, which is often reserved solely for UFC Fight Club members, takes place Friday at IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J. Doors for the festivities open for UFC Fight Club members at 1 p.m. ET. The public can enter at 1:30 p.m. ET, and Bipsing hits the stage 30 minutes later. The weigh-in ceremonies start at 4 p.m. ET.
~ UFC light-heavyweight veteran Rodney “Sho Nuff The Master” Wallace (12-4) will face Mamed Khalidov (24-4) next Saturday at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland. The bout occurs at Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW) 19. Wallace lost all 3 of his career UFC bouts via decision.
~ Another injury for the UFC 146 card as Evan Dunham (13-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) will not encounter Edson Barboza (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) on the preliminaries. Barboza is getting a new foe for the event. UFC 146 takes place May 26 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
~ Onetime UFC bantamweight vet Francisco Rivera (7-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) is returning to the UFC. He first fought under the Zuffa banner at WEC 52, where he suffered a TKO loss to Erik Koch. He then transitioned to the UFC, where a third-round submission loss to Reuben Duran led to Rivera’s release from the promotion. Rivera has since fought twice under the Tachi Palace Fights banner, earning a pair of knockout wins in just 115 seconds of cage time.
