New time slot for Impact Wrestling on Spike TV

SPIKE TV’S “IMPACT WRESTLING” MOVING TO 8:00PM ET/PT ON THURSDAYS BEGINNING MAY 31

Spike TV’s highly-rated two-hour weekly series, TNA’s “IMPACT Wrestling” is moving to a new timeslot. On Thursday, May 31, IMPACT Wrestling will air at 8:00pm ET/PT, moving from its previous timeslot of 9:00pm ET/PT.

The shift to 8:00pm is predicated on the fact that there are more available viewers in the 8:00-10:00pm timeslot with less sports competition in the 8pm hour.

TNA’s flagship series, “IMPACT Wrestling,” airs weekly on Spike TV and is one of the network’s top-rated series. The show is must-see-tv with young men and currently ranks among the top series on cable on Thursdays with Men 18-34.

The TNA roster features many of the top names in wrestling including Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Bobby Roode, Sting, James Storm, Rob Van Dam, and the lovely and lethal Knockouts.

TNA’s flagship series, “IMPACT Wrestling,” thats kinda all the got

  2. Fisha695 says:

They got Xplosion (though not shown in the USA) and they own that Ring Ka King thing in India & “All Wheels Wrestling” which still has yet to be picked up by any TV network and thus hasn’t had any shows other then their first one.

That said I (and I’m sure most other people) watch other things at 8pm (well atleast when those other shows are reruns) so this move IMHO has a great chance of hurting more then helping.

Highly Rated? I know its cliche, but I am actually Laughing Out Loud.

    lol

  4. Rusty Shackleford says:

“Spike TV’s highly rated 2 hour weekly series”.

I wonder what they consider to be low ratings.

  5. fourtuneth wall says:

Odd how they didn’t mention that their last episode ended with what was supposed to be a man drenched in feces. If that doesn’t scream, “MUST SEE TV” I don’t know what does!

  6. -J- says:

If they were doing so well why move them around again? The timeslot jump around is usually an indicator that something just sin’t working…tna is on life support.

  7. Legend_Killer says:

WWE Superstars would destroy them in ratings…

  8. john small says:

Take this company off life support…sad state of affairs and no chance of ever getting better!

  9. Pipebomber says:

Spike should ditch Impact and air Ring Ka King with English commentary.

  10. Hipnosis says:

    Where’s THE POPE D’Angelo Dinero?

  11. Kyle Christie says:

I don’t really follow ratings much but hasn’t it been under 1.0 lately?

  12. fourtuneth wall says:

@Pipebomber — yeah, I’ve always thought it would be cooler to see a “b-show”, like King Ka Ring, just because its got different bookers and doesn’t feature the geriatric nWo crew…

In short, it might be unpredictable and thus exciting.

But what the hell do I know? The last wrestling show I really enjoyed watching was a local indie show that was on late-night tv 3 years ago…

  13. Jessy says:

a 1.0 on cable is still very good based on what spike tv spends on the show, which is minimal. moving to 7 sounds better, and the 6 ppv’s a year all paid for by spike tv will help the overall budget. the writing is the issue, dixie is such a mark and will fall for whatever bullshit they throw at her.
