~ Ratings for the seventh episode of “The Ultimate Fighter: Live” resulted in an average audience of 1 million viewers, which ties the mark for the second-smallest audience of the season. Friday’s episode, which featured the season’s sixth opening-round matchup, followed the 1 million viewers who tuned in for the sixth episode.
~ The third and final episode of “UFC 145 Primetime” scored 646,000 viewers – a 13 percent ratings increase from the second episode of the three-part series. The second episode of the series earned 573,000 viewers, and the debut scored 462,000 viewers. With the new figure in mind, the series averaged 560,000 viewers over its three-week run.
~ UFC president Dana White today announced UFC 147 will take place at a date to be determined. Currently, White said, the event still will take place June 23, though a venue hasn’t been determined. UFC officials initially announced UFC 147 at Joao Havelange Stadium (also known as Engenhao Stadium) in Rio. However, White recently said conflicts with the United Nations’ “Rio +20″ meeting, which is scheduled for June 20-22 in Rio, could prompt some changes.
~ A title fight and rematch between UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva (31-4 MMA, 14-0 UFC) and challenger Chael Sonnen (27-11-1 MMA, 6-4 UFC) has moved from UFC 147 in Brazil to UFC 148 in Las Vegas. UFC president Dana White today announced the change. The announcement came at a press conference in Rio de Janeiro. UFC 148 takes place July 7 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
