~ UFC bantamweight veteran Donny Walker lost last night at the I-X Center in Cleveland, Ohio at the Bellator 66 prelims. In a special fight featuring a title fight from another promotion, North American Allied Fight Series featherweight champion Frank Caraballo KO’d (Flying Knee) Walker at 2:25 into Round 4. Walker (15-9) was released by the UFC last September after losing his 2 bouts.
~ UFC lightweight veteran Mark “Boots” Holst secured a victory over Stephane Lamarche (8-12) last night at the Casino Du Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. Holst (10-3) defeated Lamarche via Submission (Kimura) at 2:29 into Round 2. The bout occured at Wreck MMA 9: Road To Glory. Holst a hadn’t fought since January 28, 2011.
~ Newcomer Tim Elliott (8-2-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has replaced Darren Uyenoyama (7-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at UFC on FOX 3 and now meets fellow flyweight and “The Ultimate Fighter 14″ winner John Dodson (12-5 MMA, 1-0 UFC). “UFC on FOX 3: Diaz vs. Miller” takes place May 5 at IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J.
~ A middleweight bout between UFC and Strikeforce vet John Salter (8-2) and Josh Samman (9-2) will headline June’s “Xtreme Fighting Championship 18: Music City Mayhem” event. Officials recently announced the headliner, which takes place June 22 at Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Tennessee. The headliner and the rest of the main card airs on HDNet.
