~ Ratings for the sixth episode of “The Ultimate Fighter: Live” were up slightly and resulted in an average audience of 1 million viewers, which marks the second smallest audience of the season. Friday’s episode, which featured the season’s fifth opening-round matchup, followed the 947,000 viewers who tuned in for the fifth episode.
~ The UFC’s traditional pre-event show returns tonight with the debut of “Countdown to UFC 145″ on FUEL TV. The half-hour special airs at 9:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. PT) and is immediately followed by new episodes of “UFC Tonight” and “UFC Ultimate Insider.” UFC 145 takes place Saturday at Atlanta’s Phillips Arena. Replays of “Countdown to UFC 145″ air Wednesday (midnight, 5 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET), Thursday (8 p.m. ET), Friday (2 a.m. ET) and Saturday (6:30 p.m. ET) on FUEL TV.
~ Brian Rogers (9-3 MMA, 2-1 BFC) will face replacement Andreas Spang (7-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC) in a Bellator middleweight-tournament-semifinal bout. Bellator 66 takes place Friday at the I-X Center in Cleveland. Spang is a Swedish striker who’s recently competed with bigger organizations such as Strikeforce and MFC.
~ UFC welterweight Siyar Bahadurzada (21-4-1) did not suffer a broken right hand in the lead-up to his victory over Paulo Thiago (14-4) on Saturday in Sweden at UFC on FUEL TV 2. He wrote on Twitter “GOOD NEWS: My right hand is not broken! An x-ray confirmed it earlier today!”
~ The UFC will be Jon Jones’ official apparel sponsor at the light-heavyweight championship bout set for this Saturday. It’s believed that this is the first time that a UFC fighter has entered into an official sponsorship arrangement with the promotion.
