-Smackdown opens with a few pictures of Team Johnny winning at WrestleMania XXVIII.

-David Otunga comes out and introduces Smackdown’s new General Manager, John Laurinaitis. Johnny welcomes the crowd to the show and says he is excited for his first Smackdown as GM. He says he won’t use his power for himself, but for the WWE Universe. Johnny brings out Teddy Long. Teddy interrupts and says since he doesn’t have a job, it gives him the freedom to tell Johnny to go to hell. Teddy says there was no way that he could just walk away from Smackdown without thanking the WWE Universe. Teddy goes to leave, but Johnny stops him. Johnny offers Teddy a spot in his new administration. Teddy says no. Otunga brings up that Teddy’s grandchildren’s college fund is now controlled by Johnny. Johnny tells Teddy to tell the WWE Universe that Johnny is better than him in order to keep the college fund. Teddy says Johnny is better and Johnny sends him to the back. Laurinaitis announces Randy Orton vs. Kane in a No Disqualification Match and R-Truth vs. David Otunga and Mark Henry in a Handicap Match. Mark Henry makes his way to the ring.

-Match #1: Handicap Match: David Otunga and Mark Henry vs. R-Truth
Otunga starts the match with Truth, and they exchange blows. Truth connects with a kick and covers Otunga for a one count. Truth hits a spinning corkscrew elbow for a two count. Otunga tags in Henry. Henry connects with a big boot and controls Truth. Henry charges at Truth in the corner, but Truth moves out of the way. Henry catches Truth and connects with the World’s Strongest Slam. Henry goes for the cover, but Otunga yells at him to tag him in. Henry tags him in and Otunga pins Truth for the three count. Winners: David Otunga and Mark Henry. Kane’s music hits and Henry and Otunga flee the ring.

-Match #2: No Disqualification Match: Kane vs. Randy Orton
The match starts off with both men exchanging blows, and Kane gains control with an uppercut. Kane clotheslines Orton to the outside and goes out after him. Orton slams Kane’s head into the barrier, but Kane rebounds and slams Orton into the announce table. Kane punches Orton a few times before Orton counters and slams Kane into the announce table. Orton attempts to slam Kane’s head into the steps, but Kane reverses and does the same to Orton. Kane takes Orton to the opposite side and slams his head on the steps again, and Orton goes down. The men fight up the ramp and onto the stage where Kane slams Orton’s head into the steel. Orton punches Kane repeatedly and Kane teeters on the edge of the stage. Orton goes for a clothesline, but Kane catches him and sets him up for a chokeslam. Orton counters with some punches and kicks and attempts an RKO, but Kane reverses and catches Orton with a DDT. The men get back in the ring and Kane takes the turnbuckle pad off. Kane tries to slam Orton’s head into the exposed steel, but Orton counters. Kane tosses Orton into the opposite corner and hits a big clothesline. Kane goes for a cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Kane pummels Orton and then hits a dropkick. Kane goes for another cover, and Orton kicks out at two again. Kane goes to the top rope, but Orton cuts him off. Orton hits a beautiful dropkick and sends Kane to the mat. Orton hits a power slam and then attempts his second rope DDT, but Kane drapes him over the top rope. They fight on the outside and Orton tosses Kane into the barrier and then hits a clothesline to send Kane over the barrier. Orton attempts his DDT again, but Kane reverses, but Orton reverses him and shoves Kane towards the ring post, but Kane stops, turns around, and nails Orton with a big boot. Kane grabs some chairs and tosses them into the ring. Kane tosses Orton into the ring. Orton hits Kane with one of the chairs and DDT’s Kane onto another. Orton goes for the cover, but Kane kicks out at two. Kane grabs a chair and hits Orton in the back three times and goes for a cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Kane sets Orton up for a chokeslam, but Orton shoves Kane into the exposed turnbuckle and hits an RKO for the three count. Winner: Randy Orton

-We see that we will review what happened between Brock Lesnar and John Cena on Raw, and we will hear from the new World Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus, later on.

-We see the picture clips on how Sheamus won the title at WrestleMania, and then we see the segment between Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio from Raw. We are informed that the main event tonight will be Alberto vs. Sheamus.

-Enhancement talent Barry Stevens grabs the microphone from Lilian Garcia and kind of insults the crowd before his match. Weird.

-Match #3: Barry Stevens vs. Ryback
Rybacks takes Barry into the corner and puts his shoulders in Barry’s midsection and then takes him down with a clubbing blow to the back. Ryback hits a big clothesline in the corner and tosses Barry down to the mat. Rybacks takes Barry up and drives him down with a huge slam. Ryback picks Barry up again and drops down on top of him for the three count. Winner: Ryback

-We see Daniel Bryan and A.J. walking backstage. Mathews says Bryan will address the World Title situation next.

-Daniel Bryan and A.J. make their way to the ring. Bryan starts off by saying that everything was going right, and was about to say the way it went wrong before he stopped and A.J. took the microphone. She said he is a great wrestler and a great person, and reminded his of all the people at WrestleMania and on Raw who were cheering for him. Bryan says it feels like the fans are mocking him. Bryan turns to A.J. and tells her that she cost him the title. He yells at her about him losing in 18 seconds. A.J. pleades with him, but he keeps saying it is her fault. Bryan tells A.J. that he hopes she enjoyed herself, because she will never ruin his life again. Bryan says they are through and tells her to get out of his ring. A.J. leaves as the crowd sings “Goodbye.”

-We see pictures of the Hell in a Cell Match from WrestleMania, and Cody Rhodes joins the commentary team for the next match.

-Match #4: Heath Slater vs. The Big Show
Show tosses Slater into the corner, chops him, lays in some rights and lefts, and then delivers a head-butt. Show chops Slater again and tosses him into the corner, but Slater gets his boots up as Show was running at him. Slater takes Show’s knee out and goes for a dropkick while Show is down, but Show counters with a big chop across Slater’s chest. Show smashes Slater with a big tackle. Show chokeslames Slater for the three count. Winner: The Big Show. After the match, Show invites Rhodes into the ring. Rhodes teases that he is getting in the ring, but never does. Show lays Slater out again with the WMD Punch.

-We see a video showing what happened between Chris Jericho and CM Punk from this past Monday’s Raw.

-We go backstage into John Laurinaitis’ locker room. He is joined by The Bella Twins and Sheamus. Johnny tells Sheamus that what he did to Daniel Bryan and Alberto Del Rio by Brogue kicking them by surprise wasn’t right. He says the referee will bring Sheamus and Alberto face-to-face before their match starts tonight so it doesn’t happen again. Sheamus compares Johnny to his power-hungry cousin that everyone eventually turned on before he walks away.

-We are reminded of the main event tonight, which is Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus.

-We see a WrestleMania package with random pictures from the show.

-Match #5: Beth Phoenix vs. Nikki Bella
Kelly Kelly comes out before the match begins. Beth takes Nikki down with a clothesline and pounds away on her down on the mat. Beth puts her knee in Nikki’s throat and uses the ropes for leverage. Beth tosses Nikki into the corner and connects with some punches and kicks before the referee pulls her away. Kelly gets in Beth’s face, and Nikki takes advantage after Beth runs into the ring post. Nikki hits a face buster for the three count. Winner: Nikki Bella

-We see that the encounter between Brock Lesnar and John Cena from Raw will be covered next.

-A tribute package for Chief Jay Strongbow is played.

-We see a preview for the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, which is Sunday, April 29th.

-A Damien Sandow video package is played. He talks about entertainment and how cultures throughout the world see it. He says saving us from the ignorance we perceive entertainment to be is his true calling.

-We go back to Monday Night Raw and see Brock Lesnar’s return, including the F-5 he gave to John Cena.

-We are informed that The Three Stooges will be the guest hosts of Raw this coming Monday night.

-Match #6: Alberto Del Rio (w/Ricardo Rodriguez) vs. Sheamus
The match begins with a tie-up, and Sheamus quickly takes Alberto down. Alberto sends Sheamus off the ropes, but Sheamus comes back with a shoulder tackle. Sheamus hits another shoulder tackle and goes for the cover, but only gets a one count. Del Rio gets some offense in, but Sheamus counters with come boots to the face. Sheamus hits a rolling drop on Alberto and goes for the cover, but only gets a two count. Alberto drapes Sheamus’ arm over the top rope, and then begins to go to work on the arm. Alberto goes for the cross arm breaker, but Sheamus counters and goes for the Brogue Kick, and Alberto moves out of the way. Sheamus hits his shoulder block over the top rope and goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Sheamus tangles Alberto in the ropes and hits him with his signature ten blows to the chest. Sheamus charges at Alberto, but he pulls the top rope down and Sheamus goes to the outside. Alberto kicks Sheamus in the head, and Sheamus goes to the floor. Alberto uses the ring steps to his advantage and tosses Sheamus back into the ring. Alberto goes for the cover, but only gets a one count. Sheamus powers out, but Alberto quickly gains the advantage back and dropkicks Sheamus on the shoulder. Alberto goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Alberto charges at Sheamus, but Sheamus counters and hits him with a back breaker. Sheamus hits Alberto with three clubbing blows, then pounds on him in the corner, and then hits him with a running powerslam. Ricardo gets on the ropes, but Sheamis quickly brings him into the ring. Alberto has a chair and attempts to use it on Sheamus, but Sheamus counters and picks up the chair. Alberto feigns getting hit with the chair and the referee calls for the bell. Winner by disqualification: Alberto Del Rio. After the match, Sheamus takes the referee out with a Brogue Kick.
