Staff Wrestlemania predictions – Undertaker vs. Triple H
Cody A. Springer: It comes down to one thing, does Undertaker want Hunter to end the streak? The answer is no. Nobody should end the streak, it should remain in tact forever.
Prediction: The Undertaker
Amanda Chamers: I feel pretty confident in saying that the Taker is going to continue his undefeated streak, even with Shawn Michaels as the ref. Granted, I think HBK’s gonna be doing everything he can to count three on the Taker, but it’s the streak. You can’t mess with the streak. Taker will retire undefeated. The only way I see him not winning is if he comes back next year saying it’s his final Wrestlemania and he’s retiring, just to blow it up and make it huge. It can’t be this year, I’d think to think we’d know about it by now.
Steven Matthews: ‘The End of an Era.’ This really is a perfect way to describe this match. I was totally against seeing this match again, as Taker and Triple H did all they could at WrestleMania 27. However, the two obvious differences in this match feature Shawn Michaels and Hell In A Cell. Michaels, the best friend of Triple H and the man forced to retire at the hands of The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26 is now the referee. However, Michaels has thrown so many mixed signals that we don’t know if he’ll help Triple H or hurt him. The Hell In A Cell is the best part of this match as both Taker and Triple H have had the best Hell In A Cell matches in history. I love the idea of this match and for the first time, I feel the Streak is in jeopardy. I also feel that Michaels is going to take some shots from both Triple H and The Undertaker. However, it’s hard to pick against it so I believe that The Undertaker will go to 20-0 and defeat Triple H in a match which may become a Triple Threat match that Shawn Michaels can’t win or lose.
Michael Riba: This match has had the second best buildup of every match on the card, and I can say I’m pretty pumped for this match, mainly just because of the inclusion of Shawn Michaels. I’m in the minority that actually didn’t enjoy the Taker/HHH match from WrestleMania XXVII, but I know this one will go down as one of my favorite Mania matches. The most intriguing part of this match is not the streak, or the “end of an era.” The most intriguing part is Shawn Michaels’ involvement. This year has me doubting the streak will continue more than ever before, and while I have been a proponent of ending the streak for years now, part of me also wants to see it continue. Triple H said on an edition of Raw that he didn’t want to be the one to “end” The Undertaker, and I don’t think he will be. In the end, after 30+ minutes, HBK will count Triple H’s shoulders down for the 3-count following a Tombstone Piledriver.
Prediction: The Undertaker goes 20-0.
Dave Kilgore: this match would be the reason I’d buy this on PPV (if it weren’t so expensive). I feel that HBK will be dealt a moral dilemma….to do the right thing or help his buddy HHH who is so desperate to end the streak and prove to everyone he is better than not only Taker but HBK, that he will stoop to no level too low. I think HHH will come close (after all this is his 3rd attempt to end the streak). But I think Taker will overcome all, reach down and finish HHH off with a big spot. This is the end of an era and we may get “treated” to a violent, bloody match that was common during their primes. I think that HBK also deep down wants to know that he is better than HHH, too. HBK may even do something to Taker, as a “here’s how you do it moment”. But in the end, he will be forced to count HHH out and the milestone of 20-0 will be achieved. Where each man goes after is quite intriguing, too.
The Starman: Undertaker continues his WrestleMania streak. Although both of these wrestlers are getting up there in age, I expect this Hell in a Cell match to be one of the better matches of the night.
