Staff Wrestlemania predictions – Bryan vs. Sheamus
Cody A. Springer: This one’s another toss up, because they haven’t really given us some definitive clues. I feel like the Daniel Bryan title run has probably run it’s course in the eyes of creative, and there are a lot of people who aren’t buying him as champ quite yet.
Amanda Chamers: I want Daniel Bryan to retain. I like Sheamus, he’s obviously championship caliber as we’ve already seen once before, but I just love Daniel Bryan with the belt. However, as I’m thinking about it, I could see a situation that involves AJ somehow messing things up for Bryan and he loses, allowing them to further their “Daniel Bryan is an abusive boyfriend” angle which is so many different kinds of NOT REALLY OKAY, GUYS, SERIOUSLY that I hope I’m wrong. But I wouldn’t be surprised.
Steven Matthews: In July, Daniel Bryan stated that he would cash in his Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania 28. Bryan instead cashed it in on The Big Show at TLC and became the new World Champion. Bryan would continue to hang on to the title and at least proved himself right in one sense. Bryan is competing in the World Title match at WrestleMania 28. While Bryan became the Champion, Sheamus earned the right to challenge for one. Sheamus has been on a tear since the summer of 2011 and in January, he won the 2012 Royal Rumble Match. Sheamus made his intentions clear at the Elimination Chamber pay per view, flooring Bryan with ‘White Noise.’ In the weeks that followed both men have traded verbal and physical jabs at one another. In my opinion, it’s a unique situation. The majority appear to lean towards Sheamus so much, that I’m actually picking Daniel Bryan to retain, probably after some interference from AJ. It’s a hard pick to make regardless as both could use the win. Of course, if this match opens and Sheamus loses, what would it say about the Royal Rumble? Not only has yet another Rumble winner lost, but he lost in the opening match for the second straight year. The match should be great but I really do wish that someone brought up the fact that Sheamus and Bryan got bumped off the card for WrestleMania 27 and now they are facing each other for the World Title a year later.
Michael Riba: Hopefully this match doesn’t get bumped to the dark match like it did at last year’s WrestleMania when these two were feuding for the United States Championship. Obviously, it won’t, I’m just adding some humor into these predictions. How the roles have reversed in a year’s time. This is another match that I could see going either way. I’m a fan of both of these guys, and I see the feud continuing after Mania, no matter who wins. I think the match will get around 11 minutes, and in the end, Daniel Bryan will find a way to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
Prediction: Daniel Bryan
Dave Kilgore: Bryan is playing the heel role very well, especially with AJ in the mix. AJ will factor into this match and with the way she has been acting on TV lately, with the looks of uncertainty and getting tired of Bryan’s attitude toward her, I see AJ turning on Bryan, leading to Sheamus winning.
The Starman: If there is one title change at WrestleMania, this will be it. Daniel Bryan’s run with the World Championship will end at WrestleMania, probably due to some type of issue with AJ.
