~ UFC lightweight veteran Curt “The War” Warburton won his 3rd straight bout last Saturday in Spennymoor, Durham, England. Warburton submitted (Triangle Armbar) Declan Larkin in just 64 seconds in the co-main event of “Total Combat 46.” Warburton (10-3) was released last June following a 1-2 run in the UFC.
~ Strikeforce light-heavyweight Roger Gracie (4-1) has signed with Team Black House. Gracie joins the likes of Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida and the Nogueira brothers in Team Black House, which is run by Ed Soares and Jorge Guimaraes.
~ Friday’s Bellator 61 event lost its headliner. Heavyweight Eric Prindle (7-1 MMA, 3-0 BFC) is suffering “flu-like symptoms” following a heavy weight cut is unable to compete in tomorrow’s main event with with Thiago Santos (10-1 MMA, 2-0 BFC). Bellator 61 takes place tonight at the Horseshoe Riverdome in Bossier City, La.
~ Three-time UFC veteran Sean McCorkle (16-2) headlines this month’s inaugural Worldwide Mixed Martial Arts (WMMA) event. WMMA officials announced that McCorkle meets fellow super heavyweight Brian Heden (17-10) in the main event of the March 31 event, which takes place at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas.
~ The 12th & final bout for UFC on FUEL TV 2 is set as undefeated lightweight Yoislandy Izquierdo (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) faces Iranian-Swedish fighter Reza Madadi (11-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC). UFC on FUEL TV 2 takes place April 14 at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm. Both men were expected to make their debuts against different opponents earlier this year.
