~ UFC/WEC welterweight veteran Brock Larson (33-7) competed for the first time on Sunday since July 16, 2011. Larson lost to highly-touted middleweight prospect Antonio Braga Neto (8-1) via submission (Kneebar) in just 64 seconds. The bout headlined “MMA Against Dengue 2″ from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Larson is 1-3 in his last 4 bouts. He went 3-3 in two stints with the UFC.
~ UFC veteran James “The Hammer” McSweeney (6-9) meets heavyweight Felise Leniu (9-4) at Shamrock Events – Kings of Kombat 6 in 10 days. It occurs at the Springers Leisure Centre in Keysborough, Victoria, Australia. McSweeney, who fought at heavyweight & light-heavyweight in the UFC, is 3-7 in his last 10 bouts.
~ UFC vs. PRIDE will happen on March 31 at the Amadeu Teixeira Gymnasium in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. Amazon Forest Combat will present their 2nd show with a welterweight tilt between UFC vet Josh “The People’s Warrior” Burkman (21-9) & PRIDE vet Daniel Acacio (27-12). Acacio has won 3 straight.
~ UFC welterweight veteran Kris “Savage” McCray (7-3) will fight Ailton Barbosa (10-3) on the prelims of Bellator 65 on April 13. The event takes place at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. McCray has won 2 straight since his UFC release a year ago following 3 consecutive losses.
