~ UFC veteran Pat “Awesomely Awesome” Audinwood defeated Justin Reiswerg on Friday via Submission (Armbar) at 3:33 into Round 3. The bout was the main event of Legacy Fighting Championship 10 & occurred from Houston, Texas. Audinwood has won 2 straight since his UFC release to improve to 11-2-1.
~ UFC Brazilian middleweight veteran Mario Miranda lost last night in Plock, Masovian Voivodeship, Poland. Miranda was defeated by Jan Blachowicz via unanimous decision. Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki 18: Unfinished Sympathy was the host promotion. Miranda falls to 13-4 & his three fight winning streak is over.
~ Daniel Pineda (16-7 MMA, 1-0 UFC) vs. Mackens Semerzier (6-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) in a featherweight bout is official for UFC on FX 2: Alves vs. Kampmann. UFC on FX 2 takes place March 3 at Allphones Arena in Sydney and airs live in the U.S. on March 2 (a Friday night) due to the time difference. The bout airs on FUEL TV. The card is now complete with 11 bouts.
~ K.J. Noons (11-4 MMA, 3-2 SF) has been cleared to compete at the “Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey” event. Noons had an issue that would have prevented him from fighting Josh Thomson (18-4 MMA, 9-2 SF) because of an earlier suspension. However, a California State Athletic Commission rep confirmed that the suspension has since been lifted. The event occurs Saturday at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
~ The UFC has officially released welterweight Daniel “Ninja” Roberts (12-4) following his 3rd straight loss in the Octagon in January. Roberts opened his UFC career with a loss but bounced back with a 3 fight winning streak before his recent losing skid. Roberts is training out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he trains with UFC vet Gerald Harris, who is 3-1 since his UFC release.
