~ Three-time Strikeforce heavyweight vet Shane Del Rosario (11-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is coming to the UFC. An undefeated kickboxing specialist, Del Rosario had been expected to face Daniel Cormier in a Showtime bout this past June, but a drunk driver rear-ended him, which resulted in a herniated disc and a lengthy recovery.
~ Polish promotion Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW) has signed UFC middleweight veteran Mario Miranda (13-3). Miranda went 1-3 during his 1 year UFC tenure. Miranda has since won 3 straight bouts.
~ French kickboxing veteran Jerome Le Banner (3-2) has suffered a knee injury and will be unable to compete against Polish talent Marcin Rozalski (2-0) at KSW 18. KSW 18 takes place Saturday at the Orlen Arena in Plock, Poland. Le Banner is the current IGF Champion.
~ UFC officials have revealed that ticket sales are still moving briskly for this weekend’s event at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, and the fight card is expected to sell-out all of the nearly 20,000 available seats. There is strong talk concerning the UFC about returning for future events at the country.
~ UFC/Strikeforce light-heavyweight veteran Renato “Babalu” Sobral (36-9) has signed with Canadian promotion Instinct MMA. Sobral is a former Strikeforce Light-Heavyweight Champion. He hasn’t fought since he was Knocked Out by Dan Henderson on December 4, 2010.
