Update on the TNA creative shake up

What precipitated the creative shake up TNA last week? Apparently, Vince Russo being removed from as head writer had been in the works for some time, but what cleary didn’t help Russo’s status was the lower than expected ratings from the 2/2 and 2/9 Impact shows that were pre-taped in London. There was a feeling that the bigger building would make the product look more major league and hopefully boost the rating.

The feeling is that Russo was gradually losing power with Bruce Prichard added to the creative team, however, Dixie Carter had always been enamored with Russo. The belief is that if Russo is officially gone from the company, it was Russo’s decision and not forced out by Carter.

“bigger building would make the product look more major league”

Well i havent seen Imoact since October but i seen a bit of this on the show and how could it look “more major league” when it didnt even have an entrance tron? They really should have thought about what they were going to do at the show. And the fake shots of places around London was kinda pathetic. Not a hater i like TNA but it looked kinda bad.

The Show looked great IMO. I don’t mind if TNA looked “Indy”

We’re in a time and age where THE WRESTLING RING is the focus. Plus WWE’s using the same arena all the time so does the arena really make a difference anymore? lol

I’m waiting for WWE to install a real Ferris wheel onto the stage and some trapeze acts so that sh*t looks like a circus entrance.

TNA made two good UK shows, Russo gone but it may be too little to late Dixie takes it all too personal trying to be the nice boss rather than make the tough decisions that could improve business.

Prichard has been in charge of the company since the night after Bound For Glory. Russo has wanted to step down from his head writer position for nearly a year.

I would love to see them bring Lagana over from Ring Ka King and put him in charge, but that’s probably wishful thinking.

as far as russo goes, he has left and come back before, i would not be surprised if he took a break here. i am a fan of his work and yes i realize he is not the best match writer but i do enjoy his storylines for the most part. dave lagana is ok too, but as i said before, i’d love to see rob feinstein brought in, if only doug gentry was alive….
