~ “Big Sexy” continues winning. UFC heavyweight veteran Sean McCorkle won his 5th straight bout on Friday in Indianapolis, Indiana at Legends of Fighting 51 – Little Giants. He submitted (Arm-Triangle) Mike “The Demon” Williams in just 89 seconds. McCorkle is now 15-2.
~ UFC heavyweight veteran Chase Gormley won on Friday in Knoxville Tennessee by defeating Brandon Sayles via unanimous decision. Fought for the Xtreme Fighting Championships organization, the super-heavyweight bout aired on HDNet. Gormley improved to 8-4.
~ UFC 109 heavyweight veteran Rolles Gracie faced PRIDE/Strikeforce veteran Bob “The Beast” Sapp last night in Jakarta, Indonesia at One Fighting Championship 2 – Battle Heroes. Gracie submitted (Punches) Sapp in only 78 seconds. Sapp, who’s also an actor & pro wrestler, has now lost 4 straight to drop his record to 11-10. Gracie is now 6-1.
~ The Ultimate Fighter 13 welterweight participant Len Bentley (10-5) lost last night in Omsk Oblast, Russia. He was submitted (Triangle Choke) by Alexander “Tiger” Sarnavskiy in 90 seconds in the main event of Saturn – Martial Arts Festival. Sarnavskiy (18-0) is only 23, & one of the top lightweight prospects in the world.
~ The Ultimate Fighter 12 lightweight veteran Kyle Watson lost his 2nd straight last night when he was TKO’d (Doctor Stoppage due to cut) by Juha-Pekka Vainikainen at 4:26 into Round 2. The bout headlined the 1st show of the year for Cage Warriors Fighting Championship & was held in Beirut, Lebanon. Watson (13-8-1) went 1-1 in his brief UFC career.
