Thank god, he should be included…first ever african american world champion

@Ian. Not really, that would be Bobo Brazil. Congrats Ron, can’t wait to hear your speech. Wonder who’s gonna induct him, I’d choose JBL, but unfortunately feel it’ll be Teddy Long.

    To Rebel.

I am not trying to be rude Rebel, but all the singles titles that Bobo Brazil has won in his illustrious career are not recognized as “World” championships by any major organizations.

The major organizations are WWE(F), WCW, NWA, TNA, ECW, ROH, or Japan organizations.

All singles titles he had were of minor promotions or secondary belts like the U.S. championship. Therefore, Ron Simmons truly is the first recognized “World Heavyweight Champion” that was of African-American ethnicity in WCW before any other company of major significance. Just like Ron “The Truth” Killings or “R-Truth” is the first ever NWA or NWA-TNA World Heavy Champion that is Black.

But I will agree that Bobo Brazil needs to be mentioned as the barrier breaker, so he deserves to be recognized as world champion just once for that.
