~ All 21 fighters who underwent drug testing at this past month’s UFC 141 event tested clean for performance-enhancing drugs and recreational/drugs of abuse. All tested negative for drugs of abuse (such as marijuana and cocaine), as well as anabolic steroids and other performance-enhancers. UFC 141 took place Dec. 30 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas

~ UFC/Strikeforce lightweight veteran Shamar Bailey won his first fight since his UFC release in November when he submitted Darrell Smith via D’Arce Choke at 3:52 of the 3rd round. The bout headlinde Colosseum Combat 19 in Kokomo, Indiana on Saturday. Bailey, a cast member of The Ultimate Fighter 13, improved to 13-5.
~ UFC/PRIDE veteran Daiju Takase (10-13-2) won a hard fought unanimous decision over Brandon “BK” Kesler on Saturday in the main event of DARE Championship’s “DARE 1/12″ event at the Club Insomnia Bangkok in Bangkok, Thailand. Takase is famous for defeating Anderson Silva via Triangle Choke way back on June 8, 2003 at PRIDE 26: Bad To The Bone
~ Official fighter weigh-ins for this week’s UFC 142 event in Brazil take place on Friday. The weigh-ins take place at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, and the first fighter in the scale at 4 p.m. ET (7 p.m. BRT local time). HSBC Arena also plays host to the following day’s UFC 142 event.
