~ UFC lightweight veteran T. J. “The Spider” O’Brien (16-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) returns to Midwest Cage Championships on January 27 when he headlines the 38th event from Des Moines, Iowa in a rematch with Allen Hernandez (7-6). Hernandez defeated O’Brien back on October 20, 2007 via Rear Naked Choke. O’Brien is 0-2 in his UFC career. All 16 wins for O’Brien have come via submission.

~ WEC veteran Bryan Baker (16-3 MMA, 6-2 BFC) has entered his third Bellator tournament. Baker has joined the field for a season-six welterweight tourney. In 2010 he revealed he had been battling chronic myelogenous leukemia (a cancer of the white blood cells) but had done into remission. He’s 3-1 since the news.

~ A heavyweight matchup between Dave Herman (21-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Stefan Struve (22-5 MMA, 6-3 UFC) has been confirmed for UFC on FUEL TV 1. It will be the co-main event. UFC on FUEL TV 1 takes place Feb. 15 at the 10,000-seat Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Neb.

~ Cole Miller (18-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) will make his featherweight debut vs. Steven Siler (19-9 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at “UFC on FX 2: Kampmann vs. Alves.” The card takes place March 3 at Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia & airs on FX. Siler defeated Cole’s brother, Micah, to get into the house on “The Ultimate Fighter 14.”
