~ Alistair Overeem (36-11 MMA, 1-0 UFC) was paid in full for UFC 141. Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer announced that he did not withhold any portion of the heavyweight’s purse, as ordered by a Nevada judge. Overeem’s disclosed pay totaled $385,714.28.
~ UFC light heavyweight Thiago Silva on Sunday served the final day of his license revocation from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Silva’s name is no longer present on a commission registry that tracks fighters with administrative actions against them, and he is now free to reapply in Nevada or elsewhere. However, Silva (14-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) is required to appear before the commission should he reapply in Nevada.
~ The pre-fight press conference for “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine” takes place Thursday, and the event is free and open to the public. The presser takes place Thursday at HRH Lounge in Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The event begins at 4 p.m. ET (1 p.m. PT local time).
~ FUEL TV debuts “Countdown to UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit” on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. “UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit” takes place Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Replays of “Countdown to UFC 143″ are expected to air throughout the week of the fight.
