Jabroni of the week for the week ending December 30, 2011

This week .. an unprepared security guard at Madison Square Garden.

As we noted earlier, CM Punk had difficulty entering the legendary Madison Square Garden Tuesday night to work the main event. A security guard didn’t recognize Punk, despite Punk representing the company as WWE champion. Now I could understand security not recognizing the likes of Drew McIntyre, Tyler Reks, Rosa Mendes, or another talent at that level, but Punk is on Raw every week. Thanks goodness a security guard could recognize him.

I have to recognize a comment from reader:

This wouldn’t of happened if they gave Punk his own ice cream bar. Nice!

Wow, you name someone Jabroni of the week for doing his job. I cant see how this happened though. You would th ink that there was some kind of passes that they would wear around their necks like at rock concerts to let security know that you are part of the production. I can envision how this played out.
Security Guard: Sir, I’m sorry but you cant enter here, it is for employees of the WWE.
CM Punk: (Being a mark for himself, gets all mad) DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM, I’M CM PUNK, THE WORLD CHAMPION OF THE WWE!! I’M ON RAW EVERY WEEK, I’M GONNA GET MY FACE ON AN ICE CREAM BAR!!
Security Guard: Sorry, that is the procedures…even for thoser who proclaim to be CM Punk.
Some of us would like to claim that everyone knows who CM Punk is, but he is not that recognizable, not like Hulk Hogan who has been in the limelight and cross promoted for over 30 years. The security guard probably doesnt watch wrestling and naming him Jabroni of the week is just plain wrong.

Good Choice. Being someone who has been backstage at a WWE event, not all arena’s require backstage passes, However, most security staff is informed of who is who during a certain event. He should have called for immediate backup and the situation would have been resolved but I guess maybe he tried to be a hard ass and handle it on his own! Again Good chocie

@david k … so if this were the nba and steve nash was not allowed to enter a building by a security guard because he is white and 6 feet tall would that be ok? i guess if a bodybuilder entered the building posing as a champ with replica belt it would be excusable?

  5. Ronald B. says:

    The guard likes Fruity Pebbles.
