~ The full “Countdown to UFC 141″ episode is now available for free viewing on the UFC website. In addition to Lesnar vs. Overeem – which earns the winner a guaranteed title shot against newly crowned champ Junior Dos Santos – UFC 141 features an intriguing lightweight pay-per-view co-headliner between WEC veteran Donald Cerrone and The Ultimate Fighter Season 5 winner Nate Diaz.
~ IMPORTANT REMINDER: UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem will revert back to a 10 p.m. ET start time for the televised PPV main card. The final “Prelims on Spike Tv” will air an hour earlier at 9 p.m. ET. The switch back to 10 p.m. concludes an eight-month experiment that will be well received by west coast fans, while those on the east coast won’t be too thrilled about staying up until at least 1 a.m. ET until all the action concludes.
~ Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia will face kickboxer Jerome Le Banner in a professional wrestling bout at the year-ending “DREAM: New Year! 2011″ event. “DREAM: New Year! 2011″ airs live in North America at 1 a.m. ET on Saturday morning, Dec. 31 (10 p.m. PT Friday evening, Dec. 30).
~ UFC/Strikeforce lightweight veteran Shamar Bailey (12-5) will return to action on Saturday, January 7 in Kokomo, Indiana when he headlines Colosseum Combat 19. He faces Darrell “Bulldog” Smith (16-18-1). Bailey went 1-1 in Strikeforce & 1-2 in the UFC in 2011 but was released after not making weight for his fight at UFC 139.
~ A lightweight bout between former KOTC champ Bobby Green (17-5 MMA, 2-1 SF) and veteran competitor Alonzo Martinez (35-15-1 MMA, 0-0 SF) has been added to next month’s “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine” event. “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine” takes place Jan. 7 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas
