12/1/11 Impact Wrestling Recap

Impact Wrestling opens with footage of Bobby Roode’s family and friends saying that they can’t get in touch with him and that they think he has turned into a selfish person. We then head into the Impact Wrestling Zone where Sting is making his way down to the ring.

Sting grabs a microphone and says that things are getting a little out of hand and he is going to deal with a few problems. Sting calls out Bobby Roode and he comes down to the ring wearing a suit with the TNA World Championship slung over his shoulder. Sting talks about Roode’s actions over the past couple of weeks with Dixie Carter, AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy. Sting reminds Roode that he makes the rules and says there will be consequences to his actions.

AJ Styles’ music hits as he makes his way to the ring, who is followed by Jeff Hardy. Hardy gets on a microphone and says he and Styles respect Sting and his decisions and asks Roode why he doesn’t do the same. Roode fires back and says screw Sting and his decisions, which makes Sting to book Roode in a three way match against Hardy and Styles later on tonight before leaving the ring.

The Knockouts are seen in the parking lot earlier in the day where Karen Jarrett says a few of them disrespected her wishes last week during the Thanksgiving Thong Thunder match. She then orders to wash six of the wrestlers cars by hand and once they are finished, they can do the rest of the wrestlers cars in the parking lot in their under garments. Madison Rayne takes off her robe to set an example as we head into a commercial break.

Jeff Hardy is in the backstage area and says he is excited for his match tonight. Jeff Jarrett walks up and wants to know why he deserves to be in the main event tonight. Jarrett says he doesn’t deserve to have a job as Hardy says he deserves one last shot. Jarrett then nails Hardy but Hardy fights back and chases him off.

Eric Bischoff and Bully Ray are seen backstage and Bischoff tells him that the issue has been eating at him and Ray begs Bischoff to let him to take care of him. Bischoff says it’s not time for that yet as they have their hands full with Abyss. Bischoff wants to bring him back into the fold and he wants Ray to talk to him. Ray says he will talk to Scott Steiner and they will try to figure things out.

Footage of the Knockouts washing cars is aired. Tara walks up to Gail Kim and says she is disappointed in her as Gail tells her that she would flaunt her body if she looks as good as she did at her age. Karen Jarrett and ODB also meets up and books her is a street fight against Mickie James later tonight and says if she wins she will be the #1 contender to the Knockouts Championship.

Match 1: Ink Inc. vs. Mexican America vs. Devon & D’Angelo Dinero (#1 Contender for TNA Tag Team Championship)
The match starts as all three teams go at it in the ring as the ring is cleared as Devon and the Pope stand tall in the ring. The Pope then holds his own in the ring against Hernandez, Jesse Neal and Anarquia, picking up some near falls in the process. Pope does a little too much showboating and Hernandez takes him out on the floor before getting tagged in and he begins to wear down Dinero with a bear hug. Hernandez picks up a near fall after hitting a shoulder block before Mexican America isolates Pope and work him over with quick tags.

Pope is finally able to counter Hernandez’s offense and levels him with a clothesline before tagging Devon into the match. Devon comes in and takes down everyone in sight and levels Mexican America with a double clothesline. Jesse Neal tags himself in and charges at Devon, but Devon sidesteps him and Neal catches Hernandez with a spear. Devon then takes Neal down with a spinebuster and picks up the pin fall to win the match and earn a shot at the Tag Team Championship at Final Resolution.

Austin Aries comes down to the ring and says he has exceeded his own expectations by bringing the X Division back to life, however, he is in a whole different league when compared to the rest of the division. Aries says there is no one left to compete against and says it is time to rename the division the A Double Division.

Aries is cut off by Kid Kash’s music as he walks down to the ring. Kash says he hasn’t beaten everyone cleanly and Aries says if he wants a shot at the title all he has to do is shake his hand. Kash shakes his hand and they both throw a punch at each other at the same time. Aries yells out that he sucker punched him and that he won’t get a shot at the title as he walks up the ramp.

Gunner is seen walking around a strip mall and is looking for Garret Bischoff as we head into a commercial break.

AJ Styles is in the locker room and says tonight’s match could get real interesting. Styles then gives Jeff Hardy credit for cleaning up his act but says that he plans on winning the match.

Gunner is seen in a gym and trades words with a few patrons and pushes them around while he is looking for Garret Bischoff. Gunner takes one of them down with a hard clothesline and chokes him out and puts another one in an armbar submission. He tells them to tell Garret that Gunner is coming for him.

Sting is backstage with Jeff Jarrett and tells him that there will be consequences if he interferes in tonight’s main event. Jarrett reminds Sting of the match he had in Match against Hardy and says he wants Hardy gone for good. Sting brings up that Jarrett has skeletons in his closet as well and reminds him of the consequences. Jarrett says he may take Sting up on the consequences as Sting walks away.

Bully Ray walks into the locker room to tell Scott Steiner that they need to get Abyss back into Immortal. Steiner says men want girls as they suggest getting a freak to set him up with.

Match 2: ODB vs. Mickie James (Knockouts Street Fight for #1 Contender to Knockouts Championship)
ODB meets Mickie on the entrance ramp and tosses her around the ringside area. The fight heads into the ring where ODB powers Mickie around but ends up hitting the turnbuckle as Mickie gets out of the way. Mickie drags ODB out to the floor but ODB sends Mickie into the steel steps and powerbombs her onto the floor. ODB picks up a near fall after that but Mickie kicks out.

The two then make their way out to the crowd where Mickie sends ODB into the set as they head into the backstage area. ODB fights her way back and nails Mickie with a garbage can and a cookie sheet to pick up another near fall. Mickie fights back with a broom as they make their way back to the ring. ODB grabs a chair but Mickie mounts a comeback and picks up a near fall after hitting a dropkick.

Mickie goes for her signature DDT but ODB counters and sends Mickie crashing to the mat with a fallaway slam. ODB then grabs the chair but Mickie kicks it into her face and picks up the pin fall to win the street fight.

The announce team is joined by James Storm via satellite from his home in Nashville, TN. Storm talks about his recovery process from a concussion and hasn’t been cleared to wrestle just yet and doesn’t know when he will be. Kurt Angle joins the announce team and wonders what it felt like to have his head bashed in. Storm says he will find out once he is cleared to wrestle. Angle tells him to come to Impact next week so they can make a match at Final Resolution whether he is cleared to wrestle or not. Storm says he will be there and will beat his ass in.

Two girls are walking backstage and are talking about hooking up with a wrestler while discussing what he may look like. We then see more footage of Bobby Roode’s family and friends talking about his recent attitude change as we head into a commercial break.

A video package on Bobby Roode is aired where he talks about having his eyes opened at Bound for Glory as to how Kurt Angle had to cheat to defeat him. His family and friends give their thoughts on turning on James Storm and having to cheat to win the TNA World Championship. Roode says he had to do what he did to pay the bills and put food on the table. His wife talks about having to explain his actions to their kids, while his mother says she doesn’t think he knows what he is doing to his family. Roode is backstage and says he doesn’t care that they are disappointed in him as they are the one reaping the benefits of having him pay their way.

Match 3: Rob Van Dam vs. Robbie E. (TNA Television Championship)
RVD takes Robbie E. down with a kick to get things started. RVD then flips Robbie across the ring before clotheslining him out to the floor. RVD then connects with a baseball slide dropkick and is about to dive out to the floor but he is stopped by Robbie T. The match returns to the ring where RVD hits the Rolling Thunder and heads to the top rope but he is distracted by Robbie T., which allows Robbie E. an opportunity to take control of the match.

Robbie E. picks up a few near falls while working over RVD before tossing him out to the floor. Robbie T. goes to pick up RVD but Eric Young runs out with a fire extinguisher. The referee goes out to separate what is going on around the ring as RVD hits Robbie E. with a frog splash. With the referee is on the outside, Christopher Daniels runs in to the ring and hits RVD with the Angel’s Wings. Daniels then pulls Robbie E. on top of RVD as the referee returns to make the three count.

The two girls are seen walking backstage with messed up hair and they wonder what just happened as we head into a commercial break.

More footage of the car wash is aired as it has turned into a water fight. Some wrestler come out and tell them that they should get back to washing their cars.

Match 4: Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles vs. Bobby Roode (Three Way Match)
Jeremy Borash handles the formal introductions for tonight’s main event. The bell sounds as Roode heads out to floor and tells Hardy and Styles to go at it. Styles and Hardy corner him around the ring and start nailing him with blows before rolling him back into the ring, where they do much of the same. Hardy and Styles work together with double team moves as we head into a commercial break.

We return to the match to see Roode working over Styles and tosses Styles into Hardy, which knocks him off the ring apron. Roode holds his own against both Styles and Hardy until he gets the two of them to go after one another. Styles and Hardy lock up as Styles takes Hardy down with a dropkick for a near fall. Roode watches from the floor as Hardy gains control and picks up a near fall after connecting with a leg drop.

Roode picks his spot to go back into the ring and tosses Styles into the ring post and goes for the cover on Hardy but he kicks out. Roode continues to work over Hardy and picks up a couple more near falls in the process. Roode hits Hardy with a spinebuster for another near fall before Styles nails Roode with a flying forearm. Styles follows with an inverted DDT before going for the Styles Clash but Roode blocks it. Styles then tries for another springboard move but Roode pushes Hardy into the ropes causing Styles to fall off the top rope.

Roode then hits Styles with a fisherman’s suplex but Hardy breaks up the pin attempt. Hardy then hits Roode with a series of clotheslines before hitting the Twist of Fate. Hardy heads to the top rope but Jeff Jarrett runs out and crotches Hardy on the top rope. Jarrett runs off without the referee seeing him and Roode picks up the pin fall to win the three way match.

Jarrett claps his hands while walking back up the ramp and is interrupted by Sting’s music. Sting warned him that there would be consequences and says he is booking Jarrett in a steel cage match against Hardy at Final Resolution. Sting says the only way to win the match is by escaping the cage and that Hardy has agreed to the stipulation that if Jarrett wins, Hardy will leave TNA. However, if Hardy wins, he will be given a shot at the TNA World Championship at Genesis. Karen Jarrett comes out and screams about the decision as Sting says to make sure she doesn’t interfere, he will be handcuffing her to himself. The Jarrett’s are irate over the match as Impact Wrestling comes to a close.

Quick Results
– Devon & D’Angelo Dinero defeated Mexican America and Ink Inc. by pin fall to become #1 contenders to the TNA Tag Team Championship.
– Mickie James defeated ODB by pin fall in a street fight to hold on to the #1 contender spot to the TNA Knockouts Championship.
– Robbie E. defeated Rob Van Dam by pin fall to retain the TNA Television Championship.
– Bobby Roode defeated Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles by pin fall in a three way match.
