Today would also have been “Dandy” Jack Donovan’s birthday. He was a major star in the 60s & 70s in the southern territories.. He would have been 83 today.

  2. Jamie says:

Thanks, I’ll add him to the list

You missed two matches in the Suvivor series 88.

    Dino Bravo/Andre the Giant/Rick Rude/Mr Pefect/Harley Race
Jake Roberts/Scott Casey {subing for B.Brian Blair, who’d quit the company days earlier}/Ken Patera/Tito Santana/ And Jum Duggan
Won by Andre’s Team with Dino Bravo and Mr. Perfect surviving

    And the tag match
Demolition/The Rougeaus/Bolsheviks (Nikoli Volkov&Boris Zhukov)/The Brain Busters (Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson) and the Conquistadors
The Young Stallions (Jim Powers and Paul Roma)/The Rockers/The Hart Foundation/The British Bulldogs/ and the Powers of Pain

    Winners: Powers of Pains team

They were the sole survivors after Mr. Fuji turned on Demolition and cost them the match.

Thanks, I knew they happened, but in the interest of keeping the column as concise as possible, I left them out – perhaps I should make that clearer in future
