In 1996, WWF Survivor Series was held in New York City

– The Undertaker defeats Mankind
– Marc Mero, Rocky Maivia, Jake Roberts & The Stalker defeat Crush, Jerry Lawler, Hunter Hearst Helmsley & Goldust in a Survivor Series Match with Maivia as the sole survivor
– Bret Hart defeats Steve Austin
– Sycho Sid defeats Shawn Michaels to win the WWF Title

In 2002, WWE Survivor Series, also held in New York City, was only the second SS event not to feature a traditional Survivor Series Match, though it did feature several elimination-style matches

– Billy Kidman defeats Jamie Noble to win the WWE Cruiserweight Title
– Victoria defeats Trish Stratus in a Hardcore Match to win the WWE Womens Title
– The Big Show defeats Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Title
– Los Guerreros (Eddie & Chavo) defeat Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit and Edge & Rey Mysterio in a Triple Threat Elimination Match to win the WWE Tag Team Titles
– Shawn Michaels defeats Triple H, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Kane & Chris Jericho in an Elimination Chamber to win the World Heavyweight Title

Title Changes

1971 – Jose Lothario defeats Johnny Valentine to win the Texas Heavyweight Title

1978 – Ray Candy defeats Ernie Ladd by forfeir to win the TSW North American Title

1986 – Lance von Erich & The Dingo Warrior defeat Matt Borne & Master Gee (subbing for Buzz Sawyer) to win the WCCW World Tag Team Titles

1998 – on Raw, Gillberg defeats Christian to win the WWF Light Heavyweight Title. This reign would last around 18 months, a record that would not be broken
