Nov 14, 2011 - by Jason Graening

Follow along as the Starman recaps tonight’s 3-hour Raw, live from Boston, MA, as we are just six days away from Survivor Series.

The Raw intro hits and the pyro goes off as we are welcomed to the show by Jerry Lawler, who hypes the Rock’s appearance. Michael Cole is then introduced as he runs out to the ring with a microphone. Cole says Jim Ross has finally shown some guts and he is in Boston to take the Michael Cole Challenge. Cole then introduces JR as he makes his way to the ring. Cole tells Ross about the three challenges and says if he wins all three of them he can have his job back and Cole will quit.

Cole wants to start the competition with some arm wrestling and calls for a referee. Cole does some jumping jacks and stretches and talks some trash before locking up. Ross quickly takes him down and Cole says he actually gave up since JR’s BBQ breath is disgusting. The next competition is a dance contest and the fans will all be allowed to vote who wins. Cole starts out and struts his stuff in the ring as Lawler wonders if he is dancing or having a seizure. JR’s turn is next and he dance to some hip hop music and shakes his booty for the fans to a standing ovation. Cole then polls the crowd and JR is the clear winner.

It has come down to the third contest where both of the careers are on the line. The final contest is to see who weighs less, as Cole reveals a scale. Cole steps on the scale first and his weight is 200 pounds. Ross steps on the scale and he weighs 239 pounds as Cole claims he is the winner and is still the lead voice of WWE. He is then interrupted by CM Punk’s music.

Punk makes his way to the ring as Cole says Punk is ruining his moment and his time. Punk says Cole’s time is up and says since he was never going to give JR a fair chance the whole thing was a waste of time. Punk says JR may weigh more than Cole but he is also a better announcer than he is. Punk says he wants Cole to leave and says between him and John Laurinaitis, the show is becoming unbearable. He says he is there to take the spotlight from Cole as he is interrupted by Laurinaitis.

Laurinaitis and says he is going to give the fans something that they want to see. He books a tag team match with Punk and the Big Show going up against Mark Henry and Alberto Del Rio. Cole then steps in and demands an apology from Punk for what he just said. Punk, however, head butts Cole and locks him in the Anaconda Vice before finally saying he is sorry.

Matt Striker is backstage where a limo arrives and Striker says it is the moment when the Great One arrives. The door opens and it is Mick Foley, who says he wouldn’t miss the return of the Rock before getting his cheap pop by saying it is great to be back in Boston, MA.

The WWE Slam of the Week is aired and it is Randy Orton nailing Cody Rhodes with his own mask and taking him out with the RKO from two weeks ago. We then head into the first match of the night as JR has joined Jerry Lawler to fill in for Michael Cole, who is receiving medical attention.

Match 1: Sin Cara & Kofi Kingston vs. Cody Rhodes & Hunico
In a pre-match interview, Cody Rhodes says Randy Orton emancipated him two weeks ago. The match starts as Sin Cara takes Hunico down with a few quick moves before tagging Kingston into the match. Kingston tosses Hunico around and dropkicks Rhodes out to the floor as Hunico rolls out of the ring. Both Kingston and Sin Cara dive off the top rope and onto the floor to take them both out as we head into a commercial break.

We return to the match to see Rhodes is in control of the match and is taking care of Sin Cara. Hunico is tagged in and continues to wear down Sin Cara and picks up a near fall. Hunico and Rhodes use quick tags in and out of the ring to work over Sin Cara until Sin Cara takes Rhodes down with a hurricanrana and makes the tag to Kingston. Rhodes is taken down with a dropkick and a cross body block from Kingston for a near fall. The match then breaks down as Rhodes hits the Cross Roads on Kingston to pick up the near fall.

The Rock is seen walking around the backstage area as we head into a commercial break.

We see an outdoor shot of Boston as we head to the locker room where Santino Marella is playing WWE 12. Zack Ryder walks in as Santino plugs the video game and the downloadable Rock character. Ryder then gets Santino to sign his petition as we head to the announce table, who also hypes WWE 12 until they are interrupted by Vickie Guerrero.

Vickie informs us that Christian is out with an injury and is out of Survivor Series. Vickie goes on to say that she has talken to John Laurinaitis as Dolph Ziggler comes out and says that he is now officially on Team Barrett. Ziggler says it is odd that it is named after Barrett as he is the one with the championship and the looks. As for tonight, he is facing Mason Ryan and he will get a little taste of what Team Orton will get at Survivor Series, and that match is up next.

We return to the show to see John Laurinaitis and Michael Cole ordering JR away from the announce table as Cole takes his spot back.

Match 2: Dolph Ziggler vs. Mason Ryan
The match starts and Ryan takes Ziggler down with a clothesline and a boot to the face. Ryan slams Ziggler to the mat with a press slam as Vickie gets up on the apron and slaps Ryan across the face. The referee calls for the bell and disqualifies Ziggler. As Ziggler is leaving the ring, John Morrison runs out and rolls him back into the ring and back to Ryan, who takes him out.

Mick Foley is walking backstage where Zack Ryder asks him to sign his petition. Foley does it and walks off as we head into a commercial break.

Mick Foley makes is return to the WWE and comes out to the ring and grabs a microphone. A huge “Foley!” chant begins as he thanks the crowd for the warm response and says there is no place like home. Foley says we will be seeing an epic confrontation at Survivor Series with John Cena and the the Rock teaming together for one time only. Foley puts over Cena and says wants to see the two form the Rock and Cena Connection down the road, so he calls out Cena to the ring to make things right.

Cena thanks Foley for his words but says the Rock and him don’t need to be friends to be a tag team. Cena says he chose the Rock because he is electrifying, not because they are friends. Foley chimes in and says he wants to be the thread that pulls the Rock and Cena together and wants to do a little segment he calls John Cena: This is Your Life. A video package is aired that runs through Cena growing up and as a WWE superstar, similar to the one Foley did for the Rock many, many, years ago.

Mick Foley then introduces Cena’s little league coach, Will Grey, who comes out and shares of story of how Cena struck out in the bottom of the sixth when they were down. Grey says it made Cena a bigger man today, but that didn’t stop him from bawling his eyes out after it happened. Foley then introduces Bull Buchanan, who teamed with Cena in 2003 as B-Squared.

Buchanan says Cena was the greatest tag team partner he has ever had and it was the greatest time of his life. Buchanan says Cena has turned into one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, while he was fired, divorced his wife and lost all of his money in a ponzi scheme. He also got rabies from his dog and says Cena pretty much ruined his life before walking away.

Foley says that didn’t turn out as well as he thought it would, but promises to make up for it as John Cena, Sr., makes his way to the ring. Cena Sr. wants to say something to the people who chant “Cena suck!” and says Cena doesn’t suck, but you suck. Cena’s father says the losers boo him because little children love him, however, Cena stops his father and says it is not the time for this and tells him that he will talk to him backstage.

Cena says he has never told people how they should feel about him, and how the wrestling ring and being in front of the crowd is what his life is all about. Cena says the segment has been a wreck and that it is done. Foley says he has at least five other people lined up backstage, but is cut off by the Rock’s music. The Rock comes into the ring and gives Foley a Rock Bottom before leaving the ring and walking back up the ramp.

The Bella twins walk up to Alberto Del Rio and ask him what car he drove in with today. Del Rio says he has important matters to tend to but after he defeats CM Punk, he will be throwing a party to celebrate. The announce team talks about how the Rock already delivered a Rock Bottom to Mick Foley and how he is still set to appear later on tonight as we head into a commercial break.

John Laurinaitis is on the phone and is talking to Brodus Clay, who tells him that they want to postpone his debut until next week so it is not overshadowed by the Rock. Alberto Del Rio walks in and Laurinaitis tells him that he is impartial, but states that CM Punk could cause a lot of trouble if he is the champion. Del Rio says Punk may not even make it to Survivor Series and tells Laurinaitis that he will hold the WWE Championship longer than he is the GM.

The announce team runs down the Survivor Series card as we head to the back where Matt Striker is standing with the Awesome Truth. Neither of them answer any of Striker’s questions about being overshadowed by the Rock and John Cena as they just walk away. We return to the match to see both Del Rio and Punk laid out in the ring. Del Rio makes the tag to Henry who comes in and beats down Punk before tagging Del Rio back into the match. Del Rio and Henry begin to use quick tags in and out of the match to wear down Punk. Punk begins to fight back against Del Rio and takes him down with swinging neckbreaker. Henry comes in and Punk connects with a kick and Punk goes for a springboard, but Henry catches him and slams him down with the World’s Strongest Slam. Big Show then takes Henry down with a shoulder block as the two big men go out to the floor. Henry then sends Big Show into the ring post as Del Rio picks up the pin fall.

After the match, Del Rio puts Punk in a cross arm breaker until Big Show comes in and chases him away. Punk rolls around in the ring in pain as the announce team runs down the events that have gone down thus far on Raw. They then hype the Rock’s appearance later on tonight as we head into a commercial break.

Santino Marella’s music hits as he comes out to the ring. Santino says it was in this very building where he came close to winning the Royal Rumble, if it wasn’t for Alberto Del Rio. Santino vows to be champion the next time he visits Boston and he is cut off by Kevin Nash’s nWo music. Nash says he is one of Santino’s biggest fans and him talking about the Royal Rumble brought back some memories. Nash then asks Santino how to do his trombone move and kicks him in the face.

Nash says he blew the roof off the building when he returned at the Royal Rumble, but Triple H didn’t have the business sense to hire him. He then tells Hunter that he is here and Hunter’s not, before picking up Santino for the Jackknife Powerbomb.

Randy Orton is seen getting ready for his match against Wade Barrett, and that match is coming up next as we head into a commercial break.

A replay is aired of the Rock giving Mick Foley the Rock Bottom earlier in the night. The announce team then hypes the Rock’s appearance, which is coming up next.

We come back where the crowd in Boston has started a “Rocky!” chant. The Rock’s music hits as he makes his way to the ring and does his signature poses for the audience. The Rock stands in the middle of the ring and soaks in the cheers before running down his morning and talking about being on set in New Orleans shooting the new GI Joe movie and arrived at the airport at 6:30 PM. He is now here and has the privilege to say “finally, the Rock has come back to Boston!”

He says every second drives the Rock, and that he loves Mick Foley, but he couldn’t stand to see him deliver that hot garbage that he was tonight. This gets a “thank you Rock!” chant going as he continues to talk about trending on Twitter and how #BootsToAsses is trending right now. This gets a “Boots to asses!” chant started, but it still hasn’t cracked the top trends on Twitter.

The Rock says the Survivor Series in six days, but he doesn’t want to wait for six days, he wants to do it right now to the Miz and R-Truth. Awesome Truth’s music hits as they make their way to the ring. R-Truth says if the Rock thinks he is going to do anything to them, then he is the most delusional man in sports entertainment. The Miz says he doesn’t care what the Rock can get to trend on Twitter or what the Rock wants, but it’s what they want. They want to make history at Survivor Series by defeating the Rock.

John Cena’s music hits as he makes his way to the ring as it looks like Baseball Wives is still a trending topic on Twitter, however, Boots to Asses is not.
