11/10/11 Impact Wrestling Recap

A video package of James Storm winning the TNA World Championship from Kurt Angle and Bobby Roode turning on his partner last week and defeating Storm for the TNA World Championship is aired. After the match, Roode says he is a true main eventer and that this is his time. Storm, on the other hand, says Roode was one of his brothers and is unable to finish his thoughts.

We head into the arena at Macon, GA, where Bobby Roode comes down to the ring to a chorus of boos with the TNA World Championship over his shoulder. Roode wants to know if the crowd is booing him or chanting his last name. Roode asks why they hate him as they would have done the same thing he did last week in the same situation. Roode says it is a generation of selfishness and says Storm didn’t see it coming.

We see James Storm on a splitscreen and has to be held back, while Roode continues by saying he made of the best of the opportunity given to him last week. Storm breaks through security and makes his way down the ramp and into the ring as Roode runs off. Security manages to hold Storm back as Sting’s music hits. Sting wants to know where Roode is going and says there will be a rematch for the TNA World Championship, before telling Roode he’s sorry about his damn luck.

The announce team hypes tonight’s card that will feature Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles, Gail Kim & Madison Rayne defends the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship against Velvet Sky & Mickie James, plus Robbie E. and Robbie T. will go up against Eric Young and Ronnie from the Jersey Shore. On top of that, we will see a rematch for the World Championship with Roode defending against Storm. We then see Eric Young and Ronnie walking in the backstage area as we head into a commercial break.

Dixie Carter is seen walking backstage Bellator Fighting Championships founder, Bjorn Rebney, who will join the announce team for commentary later on tonight. We are then treated to a video package on Crimson’s 11-month win streak and his upcoming match against Matt Morgan at Turning Point. This takes us into the first match of the night.

Match 1: D’Angelo Dinero vs. Crimson
Dinero and Crimson go back and forth in the opening moments until Dinero takes him down with a DDT, but Crimson quickly kicks out. Dinero continues to work over Crimson and takes him down with an uppercut. Dinero then heads to the middle rope but Crimson catches him and hits the Red Sky to pick up the pin fall.

Gunner is backstage and talks about how his father used to discipline him and he is going to teach Garrett Bischoff a lesson. Gunner then talks about a chain of command and that Garrett’s father is at the top of the chain. Gunner says Garrett better get ready as we head into a commercial break.

Match 2: Gunner vs. Garrett Bischoff
Eric Bischoff and Ric Flair come out with Gunner for this match against Bischoff’s son. If Garrett can win, Sting will be able to rewrite Eric Bischoff TNA contract. The bell rings as Gunner talks trash but Garrett takes him down with a few arm drags and a back drop. Gunner retreats to the floor as Flair comes in but Garrett runs out of the ring. The referee calls for the bell and disqualifies Gunner and awards the match to Garrett. With the win, Sting will be able to rewrite Bischoff’s contract.

Robbie E. and Robbie T. are outside of Ronnie’s locker room and tells him and EY to save themselves embarrassment and forfiet the match tonight. Ronnie pushes Robbie E., which makes Robbie irate and tells him that he will take him out later on tonight. The announce team hype that match and tonight’s main event as we head into a commercial break.

James Storm is seen laid out in the back and has been busted open. Security finds him and calls for a trainer as the announce team wonders what the status is of tonight’s main event.

Match 3: Zema Ion vs. Jesse Sorensen
The match starts and Sorensen takes Ion down with a few arm drags and a dropkick as Ion retreats to the floor. Sorensen jumps over the top rope and takes Ion out and rolls him back into the ring. Sorensen continues on the attack but Ion is able to turn the momentum with a spinning cross body block. Ion heads to the top rope and misses with a high risk move as Sorensen drives Ion down to the canvas and picks up the pin fall.

After the match, Kid Kash comes down to the ring and says Sorensen is so damn impressive, but says he has only been in the business for 10 days as opposed to the 20 years he has been wrestling. Kash goes on to say that he will give Sorensen an opportunity of a lifetime in a three way match against Kash and Austin Aries for the X Division Championship. Kash then hands him the contract to sign his name on to the match. Sorensen signs it and Kash says he made the biggest mistake of his career and insults his mother as Sorensen attacks Kash. Aries runs in and nails Sorensen from behind with the X Division Title before tossing him to Kash, who takes him out.

Gail Kim and Madison Rayne are seen getting ready for their match as Karen Jarrett tells them that it is their opportunity to wear Velvet Sky down so Gail can win the TNA Knockouts Championship at Turning Point.

Match 4: Velvet Sky & Mickie James vs. Gail Kim & Madison Rayne (TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship)
Karen Jarrett and Traci Brooks join the tag team champions for this title match. Velvet takes Madison down before the bell rings to get this match started. Mickie tags herself in and continues working over Madison before heading to the top rope, however, Gail pushes her down to the canvas. Gail is tagged in as her and Madison work together to wear down Mickie until Mickie fights Gail off with a neckbreaker. Mickie makes the hot tag to Velvet who comes in and takes Gail down with a series of clotheslines and a facebuster. Velvet picks up a near fall but Madison breaks up the pin attempt and this match breaks down. Karen then distracts the referee as Gail hits Velvet with her boot move to pick up the pin fall.

James Storm is being tended to by a trainer as Sting walks in and asks Storm who did this to him. Storm tries to tell him that he is fine but Sting doesn’t believe him. We then see footage of the rivalry between Robbie E. and Eric Young, which has escalated to this upcoming tag team match with Ronnie from the Jersey Shore.

Match 5: Robbie E. & Robbie T. vs. Eric Young & Ronnie
The bell rings and Ronnie starts against Ronnie E., but he quickly tags in Robbie T. as EY is also tagged in. EY tries to hit T. with a shoulder block but he doesn’t even budge. EY then locks up with the referee before turning back to T., who takes him down with a huge back body drop. Robbie E. is tagged in and continues on the attack and isolate EY to their corner of the ring and work him over with quick tags. Robbie E. picks up a near fall over EY but he begins to fight back and takes E. down with a belly-to-belly suplex.

EY makes it over to make the tag to Ronnie, who comes in and hits E. with a clothesline and a body slam. EY then hits an elbow drop from the top rope and Ronnie lands a splash on E. to pick up the pin fall as EY tosses T. out to the floor. Somewhere during all of this, EY lost his pants and is wearing cheetah skin underwear as he celebrates the victory with Ronnie.

Jeff Jarrett and Bully Ray are backstage and Jarrett says Jeff Hardy isn’t going to make it to Turning Point and promises to take him out tonight. Bully Ray says Mr. Anderson defeating him was a fluke and Scott Steiner is just pissed off. Steiner tells Hardy and Anderson to find one of their wimpy friends so he can beat them all up as we head into a commercial break.

Mexican America is seen walking into the catering area to confront Ink Inc. All seven of them get into a brawl until they all back off. Mexican America says they will see them on Sunday at Turning Point. We then see Bjorn Rebney at the announce table to be a guest commentator for the next match.

Match 6: Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles
The match starts as both Daniels and Styles go back and forth in the early going with neither getting the upper hand. Daniels is able to counter a dropkick from Styles, but Styles connects with the second attempt. Styles continues to go after Daniels, but Daniels is able to knock Styles off the rope while he was going for a springboard to take advantage of the match. Daniels picks up a near fall after hitting a moonsault and then locks Styles in a body scissors. Styles fights his way out of it but Daniels counters and tries to pin Styles with a roll up while using the ropes for leverage but Styles gets out.

Daniels sets up for the Angel’s Wings but Styles counters and connects with an inverted DDT. Both are slow to get to their feet but Styles takes Daniels down with a kick and a flying forearm. Styles sets up for the Styles Clash but Daniels counters, however, Styles comes back and takes Daniels down with a Pele kick. Styles goes for the pin fall but Daniels is able to get his foot on the rope. Daniels then slides out to the floor and catches Styles as he tries to dive on him and rams him into the guard railing. Daniels then grabs a tool book and grabs a screwdriver, however, RVD runs out and takes it away from him. Styles then hits a distracted Daniels with the Styles Clash to pick up the pin fall.

The announce team runs down the Turning Point card that takes place this Sunday at the Impact Zone in Orlando, FL. This brings us into the next match of the night as we will find out who Mr. Anderson and Jeff Hardy picked as their tag team partner.

Match 7: Jeff Jarrett/Bully Ray/Scott Steiner vs. Mr. Anderson/Jeff Hardy/Abyss
Jeff Hardy wants to go up against Jeff Jarrett, but he runs to his corner and tags in Scott Steiner. Hardy and Steiner lock up and Steiner uses his strength advantage to power Hardy around until Hardy is able to counter and hit Steiner with a kick. Mr. Anderson is tagged in but he is quickly taken down by Steiner as Jarrett is tagged into the match. Jarrett comes in and Anderson hits him with a neckbreaker for a near fall, however, Steiner distracts the referee and Bully Ray nails Anderson from behind.Ray is tagged in and he hits Anderson with a few elbow drops and picks up a near fall before tagging Steiner back into the match.

Steiner powers Anderson around for a few moments, but Anderson is able to counter Steiner’s offense and connects with a desperation clothesline. Hardy and Ray are tagged into the match and Hardy clears house before heading to the top rope, however, Jarrett knocks him down. Steiner then hits Hardy with a fallaway slam from the top rope as Ray picks up the pieces and picks up a near fall.Ray locks Hardy in a body scissors before tagging Jarrett into the match. Jarrett continues wearing Hardy down, but Hardy comes back and catches Jarrett with the Whisper in the Wind. Both begin crawling to their corner as Abyss and Steiner are tagged in.

Abyss takes out all three of his opponents and takes Jarrett out with the Shock Treatment. Ray comes in and clotheslines Abyss out to the floor as Hardy comes in and hits Ray with a Twist of Fate and a Swanton Bomb. Jarrett then hits Hardy with the Stroke as Anderson comes in and hits Jarrett with the Mic Check. Steiner takes Anderson down with a belly-to-belly suplex and goes for the Steiner Recliner, but Abyss walks in and takes Steiner down with the Black Hole Slam to pick up the pin fall.

We join the announce team who talks about tonight’s main event as Mike Tenay assumes that Bobby Roode was behind the attack on James Storm. Taz says he can’t assume that as they wonder if James Storm will be able to compete tonight.

Match 8: Bobby Roode vs. James Storm (TNA World Championship)
Bobby Roode comes out for the main event, but James Storm fails to come out. Storm’s music has to play twice as he finally comes out with blood flowing from his forehead. Storm staggers his way to the ring before he runs out and takes Roode down. The referee calls for the bell to make this match official and Storm continues to go after Roode, however, Storm collapses to the mat after the offensive outburst.

The referee then holds Roode back as a doctor comes out and tells the referee that Storm cannot compete. Roode kneels by Storm and tries to pull him up and tells the doctor to call the ambulance. Roode and the referee begin to pull Storm to his feet as Roode asks the referee if the match is over. The referee says the match hasn’t been called yet as Roode rolls up Storm for the pin fall. Roode quickly leaves the ring as AJ Styles and Kazarian run out to check on Storm.

Roode celebrates with the TNA World Championship as Styles gives him a dirty look. Sting comes out as Styles grabs a microphone and calls Roode a piece of trash. Styles then tries to get Roode to come out and fight him before asking Sting to have a match against Roode in three days at Turning Point. Sting agrees to it and books a TNA World Championship match with Roode defending against Styles at Turning Point as Impact Wrestling comes to a close.
